How To Scout For Bucks in the Summer

I head into the river bottom, scouting for pressured-based buck bedding. Last week I found a giant buck while glassing and decided to be proactive and find his fall bed now.

Probably one of the most informative videos I have seen on KZbin. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone put themselves in the mind of a Whitetail buck, break down where the buck is bedding piece by piece, and actually show the viewer. Absolutely awesome video. Thanks for sharing!

Curious to see what your trail cams show. I think that you looked for pressure bedding but you added pressure to the bedding area by hanging cams. Have you checked out the hunting beast fourm.

Great comment! So, these bucks are not bedding here at this time. They are a mile away, bedding off of bean fields. Once I got to the bedding, there was very little new sign. That is why this is pressured-based bedding. I was searching for historical sign from last year. That is what I found. They only use it once pressure enters the woods. Preferably, you get all your scouting done in the spring. But I found these bucks just a week ago. On public, the move has to be to find the intel now! But again, because this is pressured-based bedding, it is safe to scout the area now because it is months away before they use it. But I will throw this out there. If I spot a buck in season. I will not hesitate to go find the information I need in order kill him, even if it means I bump him. If you bump him, he will not leave the area. He is bedded there for a reason. It works for him. You can't do it repeatedly, but you can get away with it one or two times. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
