How To Screen Print Lenticular Special Effects - Batman / Riddler Design

You're ready to wow your customers with a lenticular version of their logo or image. You know they will flip over how it'll make the design - and your print shop - stand out.
But you're unsure about how to do it or whether you are up to the task?
This video shows you the various steps from artwork to print, on how to create a screen printed lenticular design.
What is a lenticular print? It's one that shows one image when viewed from one side, and another from the other side.
In our example, we used artwork by artist David Edward Byrd, who graciously allowed us to use elements of his Batman/Riddler poster design to create this lenticular effect. The finished print, when viewed from one side, reveals the silhouette of the Riddler, and when viewed from the other side, the silhouette of Batman.
If you are just starting to print lenticular designs, we suggest you start with a simple shape and image. You can actually print photography type images rather than vector images as well, but it's a bit more challenging.
This technique, a brainchild of Kieth Stevens, uses a mixture of special effects inks, when combined, he refers to as "Gellusion." The gel content when heated at high temperatures, will create a dome, so that the lines of the lenticular base will have "two" sides with a "peak" in the middle, hence allowing that dual visual effect.
