Let's say I want to do like mosquitohead style print, can I just paint the black shirt with brush all over the shirt and leave it out in the sun until it dries (I don't have conveyor for the drying)
@Ryonet Жыл бұрын
This sounds rad! Always test your ideas before jumping into production but if you want to a bleach a shirt first, Mosquitohead style then print with our screen printing inks that could work. We have seen some creative people use our inks to paint a shirt so it's worth a shot but you will need to properly cure it so the ink will stand up to a wash. It sounds like fabric paints might be your best bet without a flash or conveyor dryer. You could also use our Green Galaxy waterbased inks with Warp Drive added and a heat gun! It can be done but definitely test test test. Check this out www.screenprinting.com/products/green-galaxy-warp-drive-low-cure-additive?variant=5283796516905

Does anybody know if you can discharge a pigment dyed shirt(comfort colors)? Also if I were to do yellow blue and black would I discharge the black or just lay black down as a normal plastisol or waterbase?

can i use heat press machine instead of conveyor dryer? what would happen if i use heat press?
@Ryonet Жыл бұрын
Hi! The short answer is yes, you can use a heat press to cure discharge inks. HOWEVER!!!!! During the discharge process free formaldehyde is produced. Because of this, it is recommended to only cure in the dryer as fumes can be vented directly to the outside. If you use a heat press, you are letting these fumes directly into your breathing space.

I also saw your Ryocharge. In either situation how well will it work on an 80/20 blend? I can test obviously but I am curious if you have had any successes with the blends or have done any successful testing.

On your website, I see that there is Ryonet White Discharge Ink. I am new to screen printing, and am having trouble achieving an opaque white when I screen print on rainbow tie-dye shirts. If I do not have any sort of drying system (only air dry), will this ink work for me? And, will I be able to use it right out of the tub?
@Ryonet8 жыл бұрын
Great questions Kayley! Discharge ink requires heat in order to activate. It actually removes the dye form the shirt and replaces it with a new color (white in your case). A heat gun will work, but is time consuming. There is not a major product on the market that will air dry on clothing, but if you can heat set up to 230 degrees or so then you can use our Green Galaxy water based ink with Warp Drive catalyst. This will allow the ink to cure at a lower temp, then air dry the rest of the way :) Check it out! www.screenprinting.com/cat/green-galaxy-water-based-inks www.screenprinting.com/warp-drive-2-oz

hi, so i have a question , I purchased ecotex waterbased discharge ink and it works how you say, but i had to screen print it twice for it to leave a bright white on black- it felt like plastisol ink after. what type of base do you suggest that i could use with multiple pigments? thanks
@Ryonet5 жыл бұрын
Hello Screen Printing & Design! Check out our options for discharge on screeprinting.com. The nature of discharge will make it off-white or antique white when printing. If you need it white, you'll want to add white pigment to it or overprint with white. Please contact us directly for detailed info!

Can you use discharge ink on a bright colored shirt?
@Ryonet8 жыл бұрын
Yes you can! Discharge works best on natural fibers, and you can pigment it whatever color you like. so a dark pigment would be great on a bright shirt, plus give the soft hand discharge provides.

In theory they will work on all natural fabric colors. Since it's a dye and paint and such. It should Hold up better then normal prints ?

Will the color be ok if we ironed it?
@Ryonet5 жыл бұрын
It is not suggested, as you will need to hit the right dwell time to fully activate the discharge ink

Would this work on indigo dye?
@Ryonet6 жыл бұрын
I don't believe so. We haven't tested indigo dye on discharge ink. We normally use water based pigments.
