@@Mas_ur sadly, I’m still working for one from what I heard the recorder been removed due to the developer not updating it for a while. Apparently stuff gets removed from the store when it has been updated in a certain amount of time so now it Hass to be resubmitted.

For those who are having a very dark recording out of Gstreamer, do the following: 1. If you have uninstalled Decky Recorder reinstall it 2. Enter game mode 3. Activate the replay feature 4. Open OBS in Game Mode 5. You'll notice the OBS canvas is already showing you a brighter image 6. Disable replay feature otherwise performance will be compromised Solved for me

Solution is to use the OBS desktop recordings to record games and to use the capture card. Only if you have another PC to use OS on and capture the video with the capture card.

I didn't need to use the launch options-- Also, this is not outdated. OBS is not just a placeholder until decky recorder starts to work. OBS is the only way to stream your games to Twitch or Kick.

Doesn't works for me, it records only mouse coursor but screen is black. I think it may be cause wrong gstreamer plugin but tried them all and still nothing

I've read that the deck has problems with recording anything other than Vulkan or OpenGL, maybe the game you tried to run just didn't work, did you try other games?

I just tried to set this up but I get a black screen in game mode from the gstreamer source. I tried to stream to twitch and only the sound goes through. The preview in OBS didn't show an image either, just black. I copied both the gstreamer settings and the OBS launch option.

This stopped working after a couple of OBS Studio updates, now GStreamer only captures a black screen under Gaming Mode, I reverted back to using Decky Recorder, which is not the best for me since I can't merge videos made using it with the ones I make using OBS Studio under Desktop Mode, for some reason the resulting file ends up borked, I use FFmpeg to merge them

@@lKrauzer I decided it was too much of a hassle to get it to work and just installed decky recorder instead. I had to reset my sudo password but now I can record again. It works a lot better than OBS although you can't do anything other than record.

As others have stated I've been using this setup and it no longer works after updating. The screen is showing up blank for me. I can't tell what developer needs to know about this. Perhaps the GStreamer plugin creator?

you can customize it from OBS. In Sources, right click on it then Properties, there should be a Configure Video there. Try adjusting brightness and/or contrast.

I was going to buy 2 steam decks primarily for me and my partner as wel dont live together,we enjoy watching each other game ,we did this on the switch with switch online games - nes,snes and so on but extremely limited,i knew that a laptop would be one way but we wanted something more compact and easy to use The deck seemed perfect but now i am reading that twitch isnt really good on deck due to hardware limits and srteam broadcast isnt any better Can anyonr with a deck share some light on this,dont want to buy two units and be disappointed

NOTE: Apparently it was Decky Loader 2.10.4 that broke Decky Recorder but SteamOS 3.5 also has problems with it. So don't update to Decky Loader 2.10.4 or SteamOS 3.5 if you want Decky Recorder.

Not at the moment. The performance of the recording and minor hiccups causes the unsynced audio. I believe having a synced audio will require a bit more CPU usage.

Kate is a text program like notepad++ for windows, its not needed for the tutorial at all, hes using it to make the tutorial go quicker for the recording.
