When youre making toys, theres always a lot to the process - I always wished that I could watch other artists processes end to end, because while I'm sitting in my studio I usually have hours of making and creating pieces and Id love to watch others make theirs. Usually while Im working, I'll put KZbin tutorials on in the background, occasionally looking up and checking things out and listen and learn ...
.. but, 5, 10 or 30 minutes of the best parts of someones process? What about the rest? It barely scratches the surface - what could I have understood from the parts that were cut out?
This is one of those tutorials. Its long, its unstructured, its raw and at times not always surprisingly exciting, but its my freestyle process, and I wanted to share it with you - I hope you enjoy (dont fall asleep!)

I've been doing graffiti and street art for 25 years, and have been making my own toys for about 4 years now, in Melbourne, Australia. It's been an amazing journey so far - still have so much to learn, but id like to share what I already know, and learn from everyone else - so please leave comments or suggestions, and constructive criticisms!
Disclaimer - please bear with me in this ongoing series, I'm really new to this and the first few videos won't be great - just saying yo - but I'm adjusting them as I go along and I hope in the near future I'll have everything fixed and running smoothly. So until I start to nail this, expect shitty or choppy video, accidentally working on things out of frame, poor lighting, voice overs because I forgot to turn on mics and constantly changing and bad camera angles! I do hope the sometimes rough beginnings dont dissuade you from subscribing, I have so much more stuff I'm gunna share!

Awesome videos! 🤘 The tips and tricks you explain are great, even for beginners! Would love to see maybe a list of products used. Would make it much easier with longer videos like this, to come back and find it. Also, it’s really helpful when someone posts videos that are time stamped, so the viewer can easily go back to the video and skip through to each important topic stamped and noted in the description. Im not sure how much work is involved with that, but thought it might be helpful for you in your journey making this awesome content. Keep up the great work! Ive been thoroughly enjoying your videos, and learning your process as well!

That base figure is from McD's 2003 Dragon Booster. The dragon being (disguised) Beau with Mag head gear. The tail should have a magnet at the tip.

I'm only 9 minutes in, but you can save your mixed apoxie sculpt for later by freezing it. Flatten it out on some tinfoil, fold the foil over into a little package, and put it in the freezer. When you bring it out later (within a few days) and warm it, it should be just as soft as when you froze it. And it'll still cure fine.

@@IrikanjiToys No worries! You can also speed cure apoxie sculpt in a box with an incandescent lightbulb warming it. So I throw my project in the heat box and my clay in the freezer if I need a break for food, when I return the project is hard and I can keep adding the thawed freezer clay. Just make sure to set a timer so you don't forget the heat box and start a fire or somethin'. Thanks for making all these videos for us so we can all exchange techniques. I really appreciate it.
