This is great! I was trying to find cobblestone slotta bases for my old minis, but couldn't find anything. I was thinking of making some cobblestone ones by hand, but this will save a ton of time--all I need to do is cut out the centre portion to fit the slotta and sculpt it in after mounting the mini. Glad I cam across this video, will save me a TON of time.

Nice! This could come in handy for basing the Zombicide: Black Plague miniatures.

If you want to make loads more bases for your cash, use milliput. I take 1/3 of each part of the milliput, and 1/3 of a cheap plastercine. once blennded you get great detail, and loads more putty that cures rock hard, and it cures in 3-5 hours. If you dont mind waiting longer (24 hours for it to cure) then take 1/4 of each part of milliput, and 2/4 plastercine. you then have double the anount of putty you can get from one packet, and if you want to model any details the working time is greatly extended.

Great video! I play Mordheim so cobblestone is perfect. Prices on the site were pretty low as well.

What size Cobblestone Rolling Pin are you using here? Looks like they come in small, standard, and extra large?

Hello, I want to use this exact method for 25mm miniatures from Games Workshop. Do you recommend the small rolling pin cobblestone ( www.greenstuffworld.com/en/textured-rolling-pins/373-rolling-pin-hobby-roller-small-cobblestone.html ) or the regular sized one ( www.greenstuffworld.com/en/textured-rolling-pins/135-Rolling-Pin-Hobby-Roller-Cobblestone.html ) ? Also, if I use Sculpey, can I put the plastic bases ( standard bases from Games Workshop ) into the oven or should I bake the Sculpey first and then glue it onto the bases? Thanks for your help!

would plastic miniatures just stick to them or would you recommend pinning?

You would need to use Super Glue to fix them but to be extra secure you could pin them as well.

Great video. Quick question - do you find that the various kinds of putties stick well enough to the base on their own, or do you need to use any kind of glue?

+Craig Withers The miliput and green stuff tend to be tacky enough to fix to the surface without the use of glue, so long as you keep your rolling pin lubricated. However, if you are having issues then a small drop of super glue on the base should help to keep the putty in place.

+The War Gamer Awesome, thanks for the response. I'm thinking of basing my Warhammer Quest minis with cobblestones, so this has came at a great time.

+Craig Withers It's actually how I was planning on tackling my own Silver Tower miniatures! One extra tip would be to take a file to the surface of the cobbles once they've dried to remove the small lines from the tops of the cobbles.

+Marlis Hempson I can certainly add it to the list. What would you like to see in the tutorial? General use or specific to the rolling pins?

I cannot for the life of me get the greenstuff to not stick to my roller. Tried vaseline. Water, baby powder, and plastic wrap.. help!

After you've mixed it, leave to one side for about 15 minutes to allow it to firm up. Alternatively, mix more blue into the green stuff and that should harden it up a bit
