Sorry this is very late, but here's something I just cooked up the creates very similar results. First, let's take a look at what we see here: very strong rim lights, orange in color, and soft ambient light, white in color. To create this effect, we'll need orange lights positioned behind her but not occluded by her, relative to the camera. Then we'll need softer white lights (with a hint of yellow, I think) a little in front and above her. Then a blanket ambient light of mid-dark blue-grey (the world light). But those rim lights seem really unusually intense, so what gives? I figured out you can create a similar effect by feeding a Shader-to-RGB node into a HSV node, using fresnel as a driver to affect the value, then feeding the output into an Emission shader which hooks into the output. Not sure if this is what he did, but it sure is a cool effect and it's quite similar. Edit: Based on one of his other videos I watched, it's clear he actually just doubles up the lights. He has larger near light for providing the softer effect with a much lower luminance, then a smaller area light at distance with very high power creating the rim light.

I also sometimes trace over my reference pictures because otherwise sketching it all out will be very time consuming but whenever I do that I feel like I’m not making real art even though I colour and render it all just by looking at the picture… also just colour it fully in on my own art style, I once made a drawing of Jinx with my own art style and she is very much recognisable but some people hated on it just because I didn’t colour her in as in the Arcane series

this video is actually helpful if you understand the basic tools he's using to make her. I huge take away for me is he's using a kind of ruler which mirrors the movements to the other side. Also, most artists when doing this kind of art are using reference images to get the look down correctly, they arn't just making it from imagination. That is typically done for characters in different poses. Hope this helps a little.

Hi, its probably a shader (+the usual rimlight, backlight and frontlight ). I’m looking for the same effect, there’s certainly some tutos for it out there! His render is fantastical indeed
@killer8217gaming Жыл бұрын
@@clementinebleue2856 aside from the extremely strong rimlight he is using, it seems like he is using some sort of anime/cartoonish shader that leans more towards a semi realistic style
