To be honest, this animation style by fortiche looks like it was created by people who really love their art and take pride in their work. It wasn't about money. It was about making a masterpiece and they exceeded everyones expectations. I think they revolutionized the animation industry.

Money really helped. Riot spent an estimated $100 million on this. That's unheard of for an animated show. Only massive shows like Family Guy cost around that much and much of the cost is for the voice actors. Anime are often made for around $3 million for ~12 20 min episodes.

it was technically 3 movies split up in 3 parts each due to time skips in order for it to not be too jarring and make the viewer lose connection but yeah the quality is amazing there are no dead moments no filler scenes everything was important, meant something or was great to notice if you had the eye it's also so well made that there is content for the people that go frame by frame too... throughout the whole series thats imo the real nuts part

​@@Tomluke5823 I've been an avid watcher of anime since 2006, and I've also watched a ton of older animes from popular studio like Ghibi Studio, Madhouse, Ufotable, Kyoto Animation, etc. But it will never beat Arcane tbh, from story, pacing, art style, although story-wise we can debate on that. On the other hand, artstyle and the level of facial expression, body language on display in Arcane is just not something that anime can achieve, that I'm pretty sure of. Arcane just conveyed so much with each frame, while anime leave room for confusion in their character expression, but Arcane is just wow, because you can feel exactly the level of emotion they were portraying in the series. So, yeah I love anime, but Arcane is just a cut above the anime, they're not even in the same League.

I've never played League of Legends or any of Riot's other games, so I walked into this show with no expectations at all, and I was hooked from the start. The art, the animation, and above all, the characters & their stories. Animation can be so subjective and it either works for you or it doesn't. I would have no hesitation recommending this show to anyone I know. The best part is, there _will_ be a Season 2.

One of things that stood out to me visually was how the effects like smoke and fire were 2D animated while the characters were done with CG. That's the exact opposite appraoch taken by studios, in particular, anime producers and it gives the series such a unique look. It doesn't always work as well as I'm sure they'd hoped (there's a very good reason its usually done the other way) but overall it looks fantastic.

We both about died when I looked it up and discovered that it *wasn't* done with motion capture! That whole series, every subtle facial expression and gesture is all done with key frame animation! This is truly some God tier animation!

When I looked up how it was made and learned it was all done with key frame I was blown away. There's no part of that series that isn't next level impressive.

Exactly this. Almost all of the major productions in modern times are so bland, full of lazy tropes and one dimensional characters. I suspect this is the product of generations conditioned to support their flag and army no matter what. They don't like to think that the "antagonist" may also have a valid cause to fight for, and "heroes" also have their own personal and selfish motivations

But storytelling is key and the flow of storytelling is the answer to make the animation come to life, this thing is so well done that if you pause on the show during a scene, the charters have facial emotion , that's just epic

This show was an incredibly delicate balance of genius in every single aspect of it. From the tiniest speck of dust at the right time, to the biggest, flashiest fights. The naturality of every movement, the often unnoticed accuracy and consistency of gravity, the camera work, the deep and complex personalities, the sympathy element to every character no matter their side, the natural and relatable reactions to events or circumstances, the voices, the facial expressions, everything that happens on every single frame outside of the point of focus. This is the result of a hive mind of genius working in perfect concert with each other. You don't need to play league to see that this is a masterpiece. Well done!

For me, this series is definitely on top list of movies that I could watch for eternity without getting bored. Every character and story, the transaction between the action scenes, the way they picture the psychological impact, everything is stunning, amaising, and very carefully done. It realy shows how much effort they've put in everything, from the art to the story to the soundtrack. No other show made me feel this way and it definitely had a long term positive impact on me. I was amazed by how little it relied on dialogue. Visual story telling was incredible. Every song was tied to the story and the scene on screen, from "dear friend across the river" (girl asking the other side for reconciliation) to "I'm the monster you created" (same girl declaring war against them).

This is one of the first shows where everything from the art style, to the whole story line I was completely astonished by. I had expections of the story line to go one way and it went to a whole nother direction. This whole show had me on my toes just waiting for what would come next. I think the magic of the show is executing these characters so well, doing multiple of them AND weaving it all together in a bigger conflict of piltover v zaun. It keeps the focus on the humanity of these characters as well.

It’s crazy what this masterpiece has managed to achieve Arcane has returned my love for league and inspired me to continue working hard towards my career path even though I’m in a really dark place right now The way they’ve showed the complexity and beauty of all characters (especially Jinx for me) has helped me relate to them and get through things but mostly I see and value all the love and hard work that has been put into these series, it’s wonderful and truly inspiring (just to put things into perspective, I usually barely even draw and hardly find motivation to but after beginning to watch this I’ve been drawing and WANTING to draw every single day and it feels awesome) something I truly didn’t expect thank you riot and the animation studio

I’ve been getting into art and storytelling as my hobby over the last year and half-ish. I tried animation but I learned I just feel so passionate about WATCHING it and appreciating it, rather than actually making it. But I still have true passion for art and illustration though. Same goes for storytelling and writing. I love characters and every single thing that comes packaged with them. I’ve been brainstorming characters for a bit and studying a ton of films and anime and stuff. So I’ve decided the best thing for me would probably be like visual novels or comics/manga. I’m going to start making my own stories and characters and worlds and all that good stuff, made visualized with my own art styles. And I could add more flavor with music or mmmmm and voice acting. This show was a HUGE, and I mean just HUUGGGEEE inspiration. It goes without saying how passionately crafted this show was in ever aspect, from art to animation to characters to plot/story to dialogue and just EVERYTHING. I wish you the best of luck on your journey.

Attention to details of minutest emotions / body language were never seen before. Whoever created, drew & voiced Jinx should get deserving recognition, and so are other creators. It’s beyond beautiful, and when I try to describe it to people, I don’t even have the words, I just beg them to do themselves a huge favour and watch, because such art needs to be seen and appreciated 😭✨ The song ‘Enemy’ is perfection. It's awesome to see how much Riot is thrilled with the work of Fortiche. It's also worth giving a ton of credit to August Browning, Principle Champion Designer at Riot, who is the original creator of Vi, Jinx, and Ekko. Through his champions he laid the foundation of the story we have today. He also made Jhin, who we know ended up in Piltover when he clashed with Camille, so maybe he'll show up in the series as well.

Arcane made me want to try again and pursue my dream as animator/character designer/storyteller. I kind of gave up on that because depression made me lose motivation and drawing suddenly felt like a task I couldn’t enjoy anymore like I used to. But after watching Arcane… I feel like that is what would make me happy. Creating stories, characters and making art. I’d be so happy if people would enjoy and get inspired by my ideas like I enjoyed Arcane.

I’m not a gamer and don’t know anything about LofL. But this series is the most beautiful, amazing, creative things I’ve ever seen (right alongside Spiderman/Multiverse). Story, character development, animation, artwork, music, directing - you could literally not have nailed it any harder. I fell like I could take any frame from anywhere in the whole series, print it off, and hang it on my wall as a masterpiece - and animated along with all the other elements of flawless storytelling, this was just top notch. Awesome! Well done. Do more.

I loved the animation of this series it was utterly flawless, I loved how the smoke looked 2D compared to the characters and setting. It is such a great storyline and has so many unique characters with their own problems, the way they drew their emotions and facial features was awesome. I especially loved the music it fits so well with each scene!
