I started spraying my roots with ACV/water mix along with my pre poo, to calm my scalp and break up any build up. Either as a final rinse or sprayed into my deep conditioner….game changer. My hair still feels clean but it doesn’t feel as stripped as it usually does i think it’s bc it drops the ph of the shampoo a bit. As a final step in my routine my hair just feels smoother and sleeker. I’m excited to see what doing this over the course of the year does to my hair.

Same - I spritz it on 15-20 mins before shampoo and as a final rinse after deep condish; I'll never do without this step. My hair feels so soft, is more manageable for styling and overall smoother and shinier. I honestly think it's due to incorporating ACV/water

That's good that your hair can take ACV rinses on wash days. Some people's hair can't. My cousin did them once a week as well & her long pretty hair was long, stringy, ate out, & unhealthy & had to be cut many inches within one year. That acid was eating her cuticle, shaft, & all of her hair out over time! That was a few years ago & without using the ACV so often (2x in 3 years) her hair is back to being healthy & long. I guess her hair couldn't thrive with it as often as your hair can.

However what about Blacks that have multiple hair textures in their head because they have more than one ethnicity (African and Caucasian)? I believe I have both HP and LP. Thank you girl! I really appreciate it and it’s possible to have numerous textures and a spectrum of porosity on one head some areas are lower some can be higher! With regards to dual ethnicities eg one white parent and one black parent will vary completely due to genetics and the individual. It can vary even with siblings that have the same parents textures and porosities can be different😭 I’d say in a case like that just be aware of the different characteristics your hair could possess based on ethnicity and try to assess your own hair on which category suits you best! Happy I found your page. I have a question/request: Can you do a video on humectants and the weather? My hair is really high porosity, and using any kind of humenctant (man made or natural) works so against me 😢. Meaning I can never where my natural hair out/down because the humectants work too much with the moosture in the air. So for me the whole: draws moisture to the hair is good, is actually a bad thing for my hair. 😢 Is Acv rinse really enough to seal my cuticle? Im looking now into products that are really low in humectants, but most of the time They are thick and full of oils and make my hair greasy and weighed down, so then i feel the need to use a little heat to stretch my style (after it has dried) just to get back Some volume (else my hair looks like a wet dog who had almost no hair😅)

Hey! Sorry for my lateee response! && yes as a first I’d try ACV which will help seal your hair cuticles, also I know silicones are a swear word but they could actually help in your case! They’re more lightweight than oils Etc and still form a protective barrier over our hair to protect from the environment xxx

I have the same issue. I live in the southwest Florida. The only time I can use a product with glycerin is when I’m going to rinse it out. Otherwise I style with products that have little to no glycerin in them such as Kinky Curly Knot Today and Kinky Curly Curling Custard. I don’t use silicones because I don’t use conventional shampoos - they strip my hair way too much, including the non SLS shampoos. I use only clays and herbs to cleanse my hair (with ACV mixed in them of course 😅).

Wait so you don’t wash out the deep conditioner you just apply the acv right on top? Also can I use a regular conditioner to rinse out the acv and deep conditioner or should I just not use a regular conditioner? And after this routine do you have to moisturize / do an LCO routine/ apply any extra oils?
@naturalnadinee2 жыл бұрын
Yes! So I apply a deep conditioner a couple seconds later apply ACV mixture then work in. (This seals the moisture from the deep conditioner into my hair) Keep the “mixture” on for 20 minutes or however long you deep condition for. Then rinse. I used to apply the ACV before the deep conditioner as ACV has cleansing properties but I wasn’t absorbing as much DC as I’d like. When I applied it after deep conditioning I’d find it would almost remove the deep conditioner I applied on so applying simultaneously has been the sweet spot for me😌 I no longer use leave in conditioners/creams/oil because ny hair doesn’t need it (if your hair does keep doing it but you’ll find the more you seal your cuticle the less extra products you’ll feel the need to add, especially oils) but my trick is when I apply my conditioner I rinse out most of it and leave a little in my hair. Rinse out&leave in conditioners are formulated the same so it just cuts out the extra steps and products. Then I’d style with my styling product (gel). Sorry for the big fat essay🤣🤣🤍🤍

Hello, thank you so much for your videos, I have been learning and following. I have incorporated Olaplex no. 8 because of your advice . Where would I use it in this routine? After I have rinsed out the deep conditioner and ACV rinse? Thank you

I've noticed that most store bought aloe vera juice has lemon in it for a preservative. Could this be sprayed on the hair to keep the cuticle sealed throughout the week?

Wow this is why my daughter keeps breaking off after getting out of the pool.. The beach is leaving her cuticles open smh 🤦♀️
@naturalnadinee Жыл бұрын
A tip for this is to wet your hair before getting into the pool/sea hair can only absorb so much water so if it’s already wet it will absorb less of the pool/sea water than if dry xxx

Is the ACV rinse to close the cuticle the same thing as when people rinse with cold water to close the cuticle?

Yes! But cold water only temporarily seals the cuticle adjusting the PH will have more lasting effects x

Rice water has too much protein for me to use regularly but so I wouldn’t recommend but your hair might react differently x

Hey 👋🏿, thanks for info. I use kaolin clay which has a ph of 4.5. Should I mixed Acv with my clay mask to seal the cuticle before deep conditioning? Or do you think that it would be better to make my clay mask with water first then deep conditioner with acv?
@naturalnadinee2 жыл бұрын
To be honest the bentonite clay typically has ACV mix so I don’t see why not the same for Kaolin clay! I would mix to skip the extra step just know the DC will take a bit longer to penetrate as you’ve sealed your cuticles x

Yess I mix it because I don’t want To apply ACV after deep conditioning and remove the product I’ve found mixing works well. I also use heat that’s a non negotiable for my DC routine but be prepared for extra frizz due to heat, but once your hair cools down the balanced PH will still make sure your cuticles are sealed!
