I've watched a dozen different videos and this one is by far the best! Very clear direction and visuals presented in a way that even a first time sweater maker like me can follow along! You're a life saver!

Sewing is not my favorite hobby...the reason why I procrastinate for weeks before I finalize my knitwork! Now with this excellent instructions I got it fixed. Thanks a lot for your help!

The last time I sewed in a sleeve or did any seams was about 30 years ago. Knitting things all-in-one is so much easier.

Finally I can understand how to get a sleeve in that looks right I have tried and tried , this video is slow and shows very plainly how to do it , when not very experienced it makes it easy to understand thank you very much

So pleased to have found this tutorial. I've been doing this wrong for years, apparently! I can also see I need to improve my selvedge methods, as well, so there are no gappy bits when I pick up the little bars.

You've almost saved my skin! I promised my son I'd had his sweater ready this weekend, and have been flummoxed re sewing the horizontal piece to the sleeve. Now I can get thru this hurdle, thousand thanks!

I was clueless and made a mess when trying to sew seams until I watched your video . Easy to understand and hopefully I can now sew my sleeves better . Thanks alot straight to the point

I cannot tell you how many beautiful sweaters I have messed up with bad seaming. I wish I had seen this years ago. I’m now just getting back into knitting and watched this and actually yelled “Ooooooh! Wow!” 🤦‍♀️

Gorgeous! Excellent tutorial! Thank you so much! If you see this could you tell me about the neck and button bands please. I have seen differing instructions about when to add them on and I'm not working from a published pattern ...in fact two similar patterns advise 2 different ways. Crossing my fingers you will see this. thanks

I did sew up a jumper I had knitted I am left handed an my hands shake it’s a complete mess the sewing up and just kept going I can not understand why so I am trying to get it all unpicked , nightmare but as I said in my last comment I did try doing the seam on one of the sleeves that I had unpicked and even though I had pulled the knitting quite a bit , it look s really good so now busy pulling all the rest of my mess out and that could take a long time but , I do hope your channel won’t go off now I have got it you are so concise and easy to understand thanks again Jean uk

With this method, they turn out so professional looking and beautiful. I'm back again because I'm sewing a set-in sleeve and forgotten what length of yarn to use. Little things one can forget easily. I thought all this time it was double the length, oops.

I was doing this for the first time and found it so vexing I'd booked time with a teacher. Then I found this video and managed to set the seams in myself! Awesome tutorial, beautifully shot and explained. Thank you so much! Now I have more money for yarn... :)

I tried this several times without much luck, until I noticed the firm surface underneath the work. Voila! Now the pieces stay in place, and I can see where to put the stitches. This is a great video once I got set up properly!

Would have been good to see how you have done the right side of the sleeve as your stitches are travelling in the opposite direction to the first instructions. Do you turn your work to the wrong side or do you start at the armhole and work your way to the sleeve head?

great way to sew the thing! Nice to watch your work process. As to the practical question I have - I m knitting the thing for a child and it says in there " Sew upper arm seams with duplicate sts from RS". Looks like a specific way of sewing. Do you know that one?

the edges of your sleeve look different, how did you finish the curved edges or how did you shape the sleeves? Can you help. it looks very pretty. While stitching the maroon thread hardly shows on the front side.

I've only seen the mattress st for attaching sleeves, so this is actually a much nicer/easier way to do this.

I have a question. How did you knit the edge of sleeve caps? That looks two columns of crochet or is that simple knitting?

It's just what happens when you decrease stitches in stockinette.

@@Delbakhteh Search up "LKC sleeve top shaping" on KZbin. That's how I do it and I get these double edge rows. But basically, when I decrease 2 stitches at each end of a row (so 1 at the beginning, 1 at the end), this is how I do it: Knit the first 2 stitches as normal, slip the 3rd stitch, knit the 4th and then slip the 3rd stitch over the 4th off the needle. Continue as normal to the end of the row until there are 4 stitches remaining on the left needle. Then knit 2 stitches together and the final two stitches knit as normal. Exact same with purl rows.

awesome thank you. but i have a question. how do you stop the shoulder part of the sleeve from rolling over once sewn in ? i made a massive mistake and wonce id sewn my sleeve in stupidly pressed the seam and have now ruined myb jumper as its flaatened the wool and look terrible

Good video. I would have liked to seen a couple of stitches sewn from the other side of the top marker. I know they are the same stitches, but it would have been nice to see orientation on where (or how) to insert the needle coming from the other end.

Turn your project so it looks just like the first half of the sleeve and you should be fine.
