It's catch 22, we are arriving in early April and are hoping to do the ring road, but we've only booked accommodation as far as Hofn as we know the weather may well say NO in the Eastfjords! We don't want to commit to accommodation there where it's probably 50/50 if we can go further

That's an interesting approach and I hope it works out for you! If you were traveling during the peak season I'd have to recommend otherwise and risk losing your money. However, many hotels in Iceland only require 24 - 48 hours notice for cancellation so maybe you should book your next hotels to get you all the way around Iceland and then if you don't make it past Hofn you can cancel those without penalty. And, contact whichever accommodations you're staying in to see how they would handle a late cancellation due to unsafe weather, you may be surprised at how accommodating they'll be. Thanks for watching and happy planning!

Hi, I planned to visit Iceland with my wife & 4 years old kid and survey the accommodation as per your advice. I wonder is it ok for us to choose room for 2 instead 3 pax? Or are they require to have the exact no of people even for small kid?

That discount for first booking on Airbnb doesn't seem to work anymore 😔

You should try and do a video on weddings in Iceland! Iceland is my heritage and it would mean the world to me to get married there in a few years. Would love tips!

Hey. :) I found your videos yesterday and I'm hooked. May I ask for your opinion on 'Stay Iceland apartments S 46'? Thanks!

I've never been there before but based on their photos on Booking.com, it looks like a nice place with an ideal location - directly across the street from Hallgrímskirkja and the lovely Cafe Loki! If you end up staying there, let me know what you think!

What is your discount code for air B and B? Thank you for very helpful videos! We are coming to Iceland September 20 thr 25 and have booked Airbnb, 3 nights in Reykjavik and 2 nights in Akureyri. Is that a good plan or would you suggest1 night less in Reykjavik with a night on the little peninsula north of Reykjavik ?

How much in advance do we have to book! We planning om going to Iceland again in september 2019 🙈
@IcelandwithaView7 жыл бұрын
Lol, that's what I'm talking about! I'd say 9 months to a year in advance should be fine. Honestly as soon as you know your dates and have a rough itinerary outlined I'd get something scheduled - you really get the best the prices then!

I booked my places in March for my Sept trip. For the most part it wasn't an issue, but there were some areas that din't have as many places available like around Vik. There were places, but say like 50% of them weren't available, if that makes sense. And probably some of the cheaper options were probably booked up like around the lake myvatn area. My suggestion would be to book Jan if possible, March at the latest.

I felt in love with your videos and they are very helpful. We are traveling this coming January, my husband and I live in Florida so we do NOT know how to drive in snow or icy conditions and we hope to see the northern lights for our 10th anniversary. do you recommend to stay in an out the city hotel, like Ion Adventure or staying around town? Also what do you recommend to go from the KEF to a hotel? Thanks :)
@IcelandwithaView6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching!! Happy to help! Usually shuttles are the cheapest if you are not going to rent a car. If you are unsure about the weather, staying around town may be more manageable for you. I hope you have the best.trip.ever!! :)
