Hi. Many thanks for this vid. I just bought a clay pot as when I was young 40 yrs ago, I remember my mother used clay pots for cooking way back in the Philippines. I also remember that she cure/prepare the clay pots and water pots prior using. ... But can't remember all of it. I am glad you made this instructional video. Thank you

What a awesome tutorial nees! Thanks for the srep by step tutorial. I would like to know the heat source requirements for clay pot cooking. We have a common gas line connection as we live in a gated community. We do not use seperate cylinder. I wish to use claypot, but my husbsand used to say that the pot will break as we use pipe gas connection it generates high flame...which is not suitable for clay pots.

Hi Nees! U hv made a detailed, comprehensive video! Thanks much. I m doing a total overhaul of my cookware. Purchased complete range of earthenware. So hv some doubts- 1. On day 3, when d utensils r soaked in rice water, how should I create kanji water for 10 utensils?? It's a bit much. Any tips? 2. It is true water storage utensils like water jug or natia doesn't need to undergo ALL these steps? If yes, which can I slip. The oiling step of course. Besides that? 3. What other pointers to begin cooking in new earthenware? Thanks a ton!

@@NeesKitchen Hmm, so no solution for large qnty of kanji water huh? Ok. 3 Qs- 1. Does soaking d clayware in water for longer periods increase it's longevity?? 2. Like u can c, I m unable to create rice water for 12 utensils. So, on Day3, instead of rice water, may i soak d utensils in regular water, once again? Will that help? Or shud I directly proceed to drying & oiling stage?? 3. U mentioned v cud use starch water or washed rice water. Here, how long shud I wash rice so that d goodness seeps into the water?? Also, water & rice ratio? Thank you!

I soaked mud pot for e days continuously in rice water changing every day. Third day I just scrubed gently with plain scrub it releases mud color. What it means..is pot not of good quality?
@NeesKitchen
@NeesKitchen 5 жыл бұрын
Is it sandy texture particles or liquid color.. There is a difference.. Also I have soaked only 24 hrs so far for all Claypot. Not sure what will happen (if mud particles are coming out) if soaked for 3 days like u did.

@@NeesKitchen thanks for help. I tried it and it helped. Smell is gone. But what should I do so that after cooking again the smell wont retain? Shall I boil rice water and later grease it with oil as you have shown in your beginners guide? Also can i use refined oil for greasing instead of coconut oil?

@@NeesKitchen ok.. actually the reason for asking this was I missed these steps initially. I started cooking in the new pot just after soaking it for 2 hrs. I did not used rice water or any kind of greasing. That's why wanted to comfir if I should do that now.
