Hey Richard, get a piece of copper pipe cut to size between studs, hammer both ends flat, wack it into place and solder the pipes to the pipe you hammered in. This is an old method but a proven method and a lot faster. As a plumber I never carry around wood... but sure carry copper pipes and my flame thrower!

I hope this will fix my issue, which is the cartridge can not be seated all the way into the valve, causing about 5 gallons of water to leak per day. The individual that did the plumbing had to move the pipes over when he converted the dual handles into the single handle. I was not pleased with the results.
@yorkrojas1452 Жыл бұрын
Thanks!! Great Job!!
@rupe535 жыл бұрын
What they failed to show in this video is sealing behind the tub spout and the shower elbow, 'cause if that moves (as we saw) you just know there's a gap around the pipe and water will get into the wall. Speaking of which, why wasn't there any evidence of water damage in that wall? I mean, if the installation was new enough that it was still dry then why didn't the home owner have the original installer fix the problem?
@nowisconvenient5 жыл бұрын
Wow you just saves me more anxiety I have an issue like this that a Plummer failed to do and my wall is still opened for w months now. Its the hot water pipe of water heater it moves outward when it gets hot I always felt it needed to be brace up. I thought use a piece of would and cut a little square on the wood but that corner cut you did and bracing it with brackets, GEE your the man!

@chrispappas613111 ай бұрын
Excellent step by step explanation, except that you never told us the metal composition of the screws attaching the copper tube straps to the blocking. It was also not revealed in the write-up below the video. There are some metals that react with copper.

Can use CTS EZGlide Tube Insulators instead of traditional copper straps. The description on amazon.com, supplyhouse.com, etc.. says there compatible with copper, pex, or PVC.

I never understand why he just puts puddy on the top. He says to stop water from the top but water could drip around and or come from the bottom. Seems just as easy to do the entire circumference. If its a matter of waste, the excess he pulled off would've just about covered the bottom.
