Always remember with slinky wire if you have 8 coils use 8 straps. Back in the day we would throw 7 and you would look fully secure. Dot offier during a dot inspection couldn't figure our way we secured our load and wrote us a warning about load secure ment. Told us if we had 8 coils 8 straps not 7. We said yes and threw one on front set and rear set and rolled out. The good old days.

Hey man great video, just sub to your channel. Been doing flatbed for 24yrs, plus a year as a road instructor at Carolina truck driving school back in 2018 until Raleigh shut them down. I stumbled on to your channel watching some TMC Flatbed stuff. I had a couple of students that went there to work. I'm out of the Charlotte area. Keep up the good work and info. We will cross paths someday! Stay safe!

Not trying to be a smart ass but that's not how you strap down coils. You want the first few straps on the coils closer to the cab pulling backwards away from the cab and the last few straps the opposite way. Lastly you want a butterfly on both the front and back coil or u can use a chain. The reason for strapping this way will prevent coils rolling into the cab in a hard brake situation. Specially the way you have the coils being strapped pulling towards the cab
@bigsnow17053 жыл бұрын
🍪 Where did you learn that? At a mega carrier company? That wasn’t my first time pulling that load and btw, I dropped that load safely about 6 months ago I believe. Keep on trucking brother and always remember. It’s always more than one way to skin a cat 😉

@@bigsnow1705 lol I haul coils every day bro lol but ok. Keep doing yo thing I was just trying to look out.
@Phuq_it2 жыл бұрын
@@czaragoza7396 why you say it’s wrong? I do exactly like he did and at the shipper 99% of the people have it that way. His butterfly is on the second coil pulling it back. The last 3 you can pull them forward. We had a western express join our company and put the x or butterfly on the first one inside if that makes sense. Either way you’re pulling it back…
