No, I don’t think he’s pretending to be awkward. Neither do I think he has much of an issue with confidence. At least not anything that wouldn’t be considered normal. I think we just make the conflation between awkwardness and insecurity when in reality those behaviors are mutually exclusive.

Obviously, you wouldn't have success with heterosexual women regardless of confidence. Its about perception.
