YOU SHOULD DO MORE OF THESE! I remember, I had a Webcam when I was young and I didn't know how to make it do anything - like record or anything. I just plugged it into my computer and it didn't do anything. so I sent you an email or a comment on KZbin and you told me how to make it work. You're the man KipKay and you're a real KZbin O.G.

You cannot see the infrared lights. Yes a camera picks it up but a person would not be able to see the LED's whatsoever, no matter how close you are. THATS what makes this cool, it's a night vision view finder. Have your flashlights and lamps, I'd take one of those any day.

+kipkay can't you like make a new version of this with a low lux camera and high power IR leds ( like cree diodes with heatsinks etc ) and some small tft or oled screen with a driver board. Also with a parts list where to buy all the stuff! Would be awesome to have and make as for us diy'ers out there! I would 3d print a realistic housing and then use it for airsoft play in milsims, would be really neat because real ones ( not the toy ones ) costs alot of money :(...

Infrared look it up. Or if you truly do know what it means and does, then the point of this project is to be able to see things in the dark with everyone and god knowing. AKA the lights he use IRL will not show up to peoples regular eye, only the people looking through the Camcorder. Ps: Give a fudge about Grammar and punctuation because if one can correct me they clearly got the point.

@Marvel2328
@Marvel2328 8 жыл бұрын
+Ailuri Catbear It's infrared. In case you don't know, that's outside the visible spectrum, meaning human eyes cannot see it, leaving the room pitch black. The camera however, can pick it up.
@voxlvalyx
@voxlvalyx 8 жыл бұрын
Marvel2328 that's what I was getting at. Just your average digital cameras (at least all the ones I've seen) can pick up IR without any extra sensors, so if a person turned on a camera, they'd see the IR beam. That being said, it'd be weird for somebody to turn on a camera at night, so it's not a huge deal.

@Banzaipi he made 2 series sets of 6, then wired the sets paralell. Look it up online if you're not sure. The series wiring makes the power draw less, but each LED gets dimmer as u go along the set. If he had 12 LED's in series, the last few would have a weak light, if any at all.

I've a Nightforce 140 mm spotlight on a special mount for the scope of my hunting rifle for night shooting of feral animals. Add a IR lens cover and a small IR camera to back of scope. I've added a very small cheap lightweight TV screen on side mount to look at. Shows up rabbits, feral cats, feral dogs with clarity out to 400 m.

@rickseifert5139

Davidautofull, unfortunately no video of the set-up are available, or visit of my hunting either here in the western Australia outback in the Goldfields regions. A local member of the gun club here in my town took a severe dislike to my set-up, consequently lashed out with a long bipod, smashing the scope and IR gear attached to the rear of the scope. He was arrested on the spot on the rifle range by 2 of the range officers who are also local policeman. He's been charged and put away for 2 years for dangerous conduct and a host of other items found at his place of residence that aren't legal, ie drugs, silencers for one handgun and one rifle ( silencers - sound moderators are illegal here in Australia) . The replacement cost of scope, spotlight with IR cover, and scope mountable video camera ( one that's suitable to handle the recoil of a Weatherby 300 Magnum), cost is around $5600 total. The scope, mounts and camera being the most expensive. The prick who broke/ smashed the gear doesn't have any money either. Once I've replaced the gear put of my own pocket I'll gladly put up some videos of day hunting and night hunting using IR gear with night vision goggles and the new camera equipment. I've tried using mobile phone adaptor brackets behind scope but the recoil cracked the camera in the phone and also snaps the adapter kit.

Night vision goggles collect tiny amounts of normal light and infrared light to present them for your eyes. Kipkay made it differently. He uses infrared LED's to light up the room and then camera " thingy " gathers it up. So technically you need infrared light to gain night vision.
