We know the Notre Dame Cathedral is temporarily closed due to the fire that took place on April 15, 2019. However we want this video to be an evergreen guide to Paris and Notre Dame couldn't be skipped. We hope to visit the Cathedral again soon.

We did Louvre, then walked down to Arc through Touilieries and then took the metro to see Sacre Coure (used the cute train going up and down the hill to go up) and then walked down through Montmarte and to Moulin Rouge. Posed in front of it, took the metro and reached our hotel in 15th Arrondise about 9:40 PM.

The Arc de Triomphe will be covered with silvery blue, recyclable plastic wrapping from Sept 18 to October 3. It’s a posthumous installation by the late artist Christo. He and his wife covered the Pont Neuf in cloth in 1985. I was there at the time. It was a fascinating sight.

The Le in Le Marais is pronounced as luh not lah. The Notre Dame is already reopened to public? When? It's very walkable from Le Marais to the Louvre with lots of things to see.

How close can you actually get to Notre Dame? I heard they closed off the streets around it. It would be nice to see some current information, this video had to have been filmed before the fire.
@brinag86045 жыл бұрын
I went about two weeks ago. It is still closed off but you can take pictures, not far from the bridge.

Visited on 4th of this month. The best you can get close to is from the opposite side of the river. Even the bridge to the Cathedral was closed.

Great video. I really like the information about the Stores lights lighting up the street at night, I had never heard that before, and the sidewalks being raised for the pedestrians. Really good. I love learning new things like this. Thank you so much, Jeff

@@TheTourGuyVids The highlight is Sainte Chapelle.... the previous one was pretty good, I just pointed out at the fact that it wasn't included although the itinerary included the neighborhood in which it is. It's something that can be easily visited, I have done early evening concerts, for which you don't have to get on the line, which is long sometimes, and at 7 pm there is enough sun in Paris to enjoy,

This was an awful excuse for a one day visit to Paris, if a one day visit has any meaning at all. He could have easily covered two parks (I recommend the Jardin du luxembourg and the parc Monceau); another museum beside the Louvre (I recommend the musée d'Orsay); the ornate, opulent, Opéra Garnier; the Champs Élysées and the Latin Quarter. That's enough for highlights, but you really need a week to get the feel of the city and I recommend two weeks in order to grasp of the magnitude of the city and to get more than a superficial familiarity of it. Don't hire this guy - he doesn't know what's important in Paris and what little French he seems to speak is with a high school sophomore level accent.
