Oh yes definitely on my bucket list! I've not seen the Hogworts train at Disney in florida either but I'd rather see the real Viaduct. Love the outtakes too! haha! Brilliant job to you both.

Yes, I was there in September and got some great shots. Very photogenic place, like all of Scotland.

I plan to be there end of September. You were there for the first train 10:30 or 13:30 and did you experienced parking difficulties? Thanks!!

Great video. We’re coming in May with our drone. Is there anything special to know about getting a video with the drone there?

No drone flying on the estate especially by the viaduct, now for the morning train there will be a few thousand people all trying for the same photo and a good number would be all flying drones if allowed, it is chaos to see the train. if you want to get parked arrive in the village by 9am by 10am you wont get parked, (see my earlier post) and thats when the trouble begins, by 10.15am Glenfinnan is impassable because of dickheads blocking the roads to see the bloody train. If you get here late and cant park, dont add to the chaos keep going. There will be traffic wardens this year for the first time so expect a ticket if not in the car parks.

Thanks for the info! Could you be so kind as to provide the link that states No Drones on the estate? I’m doing photography research before my trip and want to make sure I don’t break any laws. Thanks!

@WanderingBen there is signs stating no drones, their website is old and not updated. On a safety side common sense would say dont fly over a moving train with hundreds of other drones!

Thank you for the videos. They are very helpful and informative. I’ll be taking a trip to Scotland in June. I was thinking about taking the train, but I think I’ll just go on the gondola instead. I’m trying to figure out what I should do when I’m near Inverness. I know Loch Ness is there, but I was looking for something else. Any suggestions?

We’re so glad you enjoy our videos! Near Inverness, you could consider visiting Culloden Battlefield, and along Loch Ness is Urquhart Castle that you may find interesting. Hope this helps!

I live in Glenfinnan, and frankly Harry Potter has ruined our once quiet village. Can I add to your film a couple of points, The early train is the busiest for visitors. When leaving the carparks when going over the wooden bridge that crosses the River Finnan, please follow the path next to the river and not wander all over the fields, we have massive erosion now thanks to folk wandering everywhere. NO DRNE FLYING. If the carparks are full and they will be by 10am there is no other parking in the village so please keep going and come back for the lunch train or get there earlier, we cant fit everyone into the carparks despite building the new one. We have cars and vans blocking up the single track roads and the main road just for that Instagram picture, many many vehicles this year have had tickets from the Police for dangerous and illegal parking and dozens of vehicles have been uplifted and removed which will mess your well planned holiday up. PLEASE REMEMBER, WE LIVE IN GLENFINNAN, BE RESPECTFUL TO SIGNS AND PARKING AND PLEASE TAKE ALL LITTLE OUT OR BIN IT. THANK YOU.

Thanks for comments. Are drones illegal to fly there?

At 6:00, is there a viewpoint to take the same scene (ie with the lake in the background) without using the drone? Thanks.
@OneJourneyAway Жыл бұрын
We’ve never come across one ourselves although we’re sure there is a viewpoint with the viaduct and the lake! You’d have to get quite high though so we imagine that perhaps from the car park, going right instead of left might get you that kind of view, but we haven’t gone to see for ourselves yet!

Hi I’m traveling with two little one how far is the walk from the car park to the view point?

It’s about 10-15 minutes, give or take, depending on how fast you and your wee ones walk! Hope this helps!
