How to make a longbow from ash with Brian Stockman, master carver. Brian and Ed (the Working Class Woodsman) select an ash tree from the woods. An important part of knowing what tree to use is what tree not to use. Then Brian splits the using traditional tools such as a fro. This is the first video in a series that will help explain the steps on building a longbow from ash.

Thank you for this video. As a young man I built many bow. Mostly self & stick bows. Over time I drifted away from them. You have inspired me to start again; maybe a ash long bow. Go with God.

Ash is good stuff and it grows much straighter and much more available than Osage. I think it's all disappearing through to the ash boror now
