You are an amazing young women and I've been watching your videos for along time. What a breath of fresh air you are! To find somebody that is very intelligent and funnier than scrap is not an easy task, especially these days. I'm 61 years old and I learn something new everytime from you. Thank you so very much for taking the time to make these videos for all of us and keep up the great work. Don't ever worry about rambling because it's a hoot and a language I'm very familiar with. Meaning I do it all the time as you can see by my comment😉

Your "rambling" as you call it was clear as a bell to me and made perfect sense and cleared up a lot of my questions. Excellent video, thank you so much!

I just discovered your site and am glad I did! I'm making large tote bags using canvas for Christmas gifts and this tutorial on interfacing is just what I needed. I made the mistake of using foam for a small tote and learned what you described as the 'Michelin Man' effect! Thank you for teaching me the ins and outs of interfacing. I'm looking forward to more of your tutorials.

(Starsundance) This is incredibly helpful. I've been doing the bag thing for a couple of years now and still get confused about interfacing/stabilizers sometimes. Thanks for the refresh. I'll be saving this one and likely referring to it multiple times in the future. Blessed be the package, K!

Your explanations make a lot of sense. I've watched your interfacing video several times. it helps that you show the bag either flopped over or standing straight. I recently started putting fusible interfacing in my zippered pouches. What a difference! Thank you for your information and humor. Happy New Year from Oregon.

I am at a point in bag making that the interfacings, etc. confuse me. However, as you speak I can apply your information to the bags I have made and realize where I went wrong, and this surely will help with the bag I am now making! I obtain so much information from all your videos and you are also funny and cheerful besides informative! I refer back to many of your vides to refresh what I need to know. Thank you for sharing so much information and helping others!

Such a great video!! I want to make a tote about 12x13 with vinyl and lined with WRC or WPC. The vinyl I REALLY want to use is that with the fleece type backing. Would I use the woven on first then decovil light? or maybe 2 layers of woven depending on how it stiffens?? Any help appreciated.

HI! Love this video. I'm pretty new to bag making. I'm a quilter and have recently gone in the bag making rabbit howl! Love your channel. I was wondering where you get your foam? Do you recommend a name brand? Thank you for all your tutorials. (By the way. I'm on my husband's computer so his name shows up. But I'm Victoria😉).

So if the vinyl has a fleece back it can be prone to ripping...why does adding fleece to other fabrics not make them prone to ripping? Or is it not the fleeciness that makes it rippable? Are fleece backed vinyls just less sturdy?

Ooooh yeah! So, one of the biggest helpers for me is acrylic templates. I just trace them, then cut out along the lines I traced. I use a gel pen. Anything I mark will get cut off in the seam allowance anyway.
@scotflower00
@scotflower00 2 жыл бұрын
A cheaper alternative to acrylic templates, which can get expensive, is to laminate your pattern pages before you cut them out. It makes them MUCH easier to trace around. Double so if you print on cardstock. Also print doubles of any cut-on-fold pieces and tape together as the full piece. So much easier for thicker fabrics like vinyl

I have a question regarding saggy linings. I have watched your video and understand and I have applied to my bags. If I make two separate bags to finish by sewing at the top, would I still cut the separate lining smaller that the outer part of the bag and by how much? Is a quarter of an inch too much? Thank you.

So, to make small bags and round bags or a medium to large bags using leather or pendleton type materials, what type of interface do I use for these bags? Also using the same materials, how do you keep them clean..dry clean or wash it and air dry?
@fiercekittenz
@fiercekittenz 2 жыл бұрын
If it needs to hold its shape, go with foam. I can't speak much to leather as I don't have the guts to sew it. I mostly sew vinyls and will fuse Decovil Light to it in place of foam.
