Your first Louis Vuitton bag is the one you will give to your Mom. My first LV was the OG accessories pouch. It was $185 back in 2001 and I recall the beautiful Epi-sequence boxing and bag with the blue ribbon. When I gave it to my Mom on Mother’s Day, she didn’t have a clue as to what LV was and is now her go-to pochette. Ten years later I helped her “level-up” with a silver Vernis Lexington pouch… to match her hair. Thx for sharing this vid, Michelle!

I agree with all of this! My first ever luxury purchase is a LV bag, speedy 30 in monogram canvas 13 years ago when I was 25 years old. I purchase it in Dubai UAE when I was still working there and I am now in Sydney Australia. I still have it and it’s still gorgeous as ever! I wore this for going out partying, travelling, grocery shopping, shopping, work bag/office bag and now , a mum bag!it was narrowed by my sisters, my mother, got dropped multiple times and it’s still alive and still gorge! I have a lot of bags after this from Chanel , Hermes , Gucci etc , a lot of my bag came and gone but this is still my og bag and it’s still the best bang for my buck!it stood the test of time!

Thank you for the history! I wasn't enticed to buy the classic style of purses you mentioned because I see them everywhere. In my head, those purses lost their value to me, personally (thanks to my ignorance about the branf). I'm a kind of person that appreciate classy and unique (I don't mean trendy. Thanks for giving us the inside scoop! It seems that the stores now focus on leather and discourage sales of canvas from what you said. I won’t go in store and go preloved whether it is for leather or canvas. The retail prices for empreinte are very high and I also don’t want to waste the salesperson’s time since they probably will carry canvas pieces in very limited quantities in the future. Great suggestions and tips. I appreciate that you explain at the start why an associate may not spend as much time with you as you'd hoped. I remember last Christmas I was in LV and a man next to me was there buying a Neverfull. The associate was showing him how to cinch the bag and he was asking her if she was sure this was the right bag that his wife requested. 😂 So cute. Everytime I go to the city and passed by LV store, I've always wanted to buy Neo Noe. Because of circumstances I never got the chance to buy when they used to be less than $2000. Lol. Some of the older discontinued ones, yes, especially the ones in good condition! I wish I had some from the Marc Jacobs era… I really thought they were too expensive back then, but now they re-sell for 3-4x’s more! Also, regarding your other comment, I used to work cosmetics too and was appalled that Nordstrom would take back (mostly) used cosmetics and creams. I thought people wouldn’t be so bold at Louis Vuitton! Boy was I wrong! Same customer, different store! 😂

I was just gifted a Grand Palais for Christmas. It’s a little big to do crossbody for me and the strap at it’s shortest is a little long as a shoulder bag. Do you think the Bandoulier shoulder strap would look ok with it? I’m new to Louis Vuitton and don’t really know what I’m doing, but want to be able to comfortably use this bag!
