I would like to see more videos on owncast. I need some understanding on things like bandwidth, how live streaming on my own linux server will impact my internet service. Thank you this is what I was looking for in learning about self-hosted live streaming options. Interested to see part two where you embed into a website. Some questions to cover may be, what are the maintenance requirements of a self hosted Owncast server? Is this accessible for someone with basic computer skills or do you recommend something else? What are startup and ongoing costs of self hosting? Interest in alternatives to corporate ownership will continue to grow. Thank you.

We used to stream in the late 90's: the camera capture was visual on a folder on the machine. So as to make it accessible from elsewhere, we put the dyndns link on the website. The only thing was, the more people watched the more resources it consumed. Would the same sort of thing happen with Ownserve?

It's such a shame that propresenter and other high end programs don't run on Linux. It would be so nice to get awzy from Mac and Windows forced updates which usually means that something that ran well, doesn't any more and you might only notice it when e.g. no sound gets to where it should (I had uninstall, then re-install VB virtual cable which we use to send stuff to Zoom)

I personally would hid them in the walls but if that is not an option, I usually get some conduit from Lowes to hold and conceal the wiring
