I have 3 question: 1. Lets say I buy rings from Ali Express for example and then I create a logo with a QR code and print it out as a thank you card. Does that mean I am in a private label business or I have to create my own item from 0? 2. Does Amazon require any certification or license for private label items? 3. If I choose "I'm an individual" business type. Would Amazon let me switch to private label in the future? Thank you and if my English is hard to understand, just discard my comment 😅🤪

Here are my answers: 1. You don't have to create your own item from 0. And yes, that's a private-label business. 2. Yes, it depends on the category. www.junglescout.com/blog/amazon-restricted-categories/ 3. Yes, the business type can be changed in the future.

It only allows me to progress once the brand name entered is the same as what's on GS1 and is then requesting an approval application from AMZN. Should this be the case? any help would be appreciated, thank you!

In the Brand name field, enter the brand which is the same as on GS1. You shouldn't need approval as long as you purchased the UPC from GS1.

Thank you!! Couple questions: 1. A supplier sent as a couple samples to our home via UPS. Also quoted Air shipping via UPS for bulk order. Can we just have supplier ship directly to our home then send in to amazon without using the freight forwarder? Size of the product is small so a couple hundred units will probably be a couple medium boxes. 2. Can our actual product have our company url printed or etched on it? 3. Is there a limit on how many items can be sent to amazon for the first time under the paid seller plan?
@junglescout11 ай бұрын
1. Yes, this is completely fine! 2. We do not recommend that, however, you can add an insert to your product's packaging - www.junglescout.com/blog/amazon-product-packaging-inserts/ 3. There shouldn't be any limits for new sellers, but it would be best to verify that with the seller central support

Hi guys, I've just made an inventory order I plan to use a freight forwarding provider to ship the goods over. The thing is the factory are just about to start production of the products, I've checked out a few quotes and found suitable ones but the quotes expire in a week, or so, and so I'm trying to decide should i still book a quote that I've found now so I know its sorted or wait til the products are finished being manufactured and search for a quote again and then book in a couple of months.
@junglescout2 ай бұрын
Hello there! When it comes to booking freight forwarding services, timing and flexibility are key considerations. Here’s a strategic approach to help you make the best decision: Understand the Quote Validity: Freight quotes often have a limited validity period due to fluctuating market conditions, such as fuel prices and demand for shipping space. If the quotes you have are competitive and align with your budget, it might be worth securing them now, especially if they offer a price lock or guarantee. Communicate with the Freight Forwarder: Reach out to the freight forwarders who provided the quotes and explain your situation. Some forwarders may offer flexibility in extending the validity of the quote or provide a provisional booking that can be adjusted once your products are ready. Consider the Production Timeline: Since your products are just starting production, assess the estimated manufacturing time. If the production timeline is relatively short and aligns with the quote validity, booking now could be advantageous. However, if there’s a significant gap, you might need to reassess closer to the completion date. Evaluate Market Trends: Keep an eye on market trends and shipping rates. If rates are expected to rise, securing a quote now could save costs. Conversely, if rates are stable or expected to decrease, waiting might be beneficial. Plan for Contingencies: Ensure that you have a backup plan in case the production takes longer than expected. This could involve having a list of alternative freight forwarders or being prepared to renegotiate terms. Leverage Jungle Scout Tools: Use Jungle Scout’s tools to track your inventory and shipping timelines. This can help you better coordinate with your freight forwarder and manage your supply chain efficiently. Ultimately, the decision to book now or wait depends on your risk tolerance, budget flexibility, and the reliability of your production timeline. By maintaining open communication with your freight forwarder and staying informed about market conditions, you can make a well-informed decision that supports your business goals. I hope this helps!😊

Thanks for the video but I have a question… Instead of having the suppliers ship to Amazon and incurring fees for storage etc, wouldn’t it be more cost effective to just have them deliver the items to my home and store them myself? All these Amazon costs are really putting me off doing it that way… I’m not saying I’m not going to sell through Amazon, but if I store the stock myself I wouldn’t have more freedom to sell on other platforms and through my own website surely? Thanks for any response to this and again, thanks for the great video :-)

Thank you so much! After reading many comments, no one seem to have posed a question regarding the photography part of the listing. Since we don't have the product, as we are ordering from Alibaba, where do we get pics of the product to use in the listing as well as fulfilling Amazons photo requirements? Do we ask the supplier to send us photos or what? This is the most confusing part of course.I look forward to your reply. Thanks
@junglescoutАй бұрын
Hello there! When you're sourcing products from Alibaba and preparing to sell them on Amazon, obtaining high-quality images for your product listing is crucial. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to get the best images while fulfilling Amazon's photo requirements: Request Photos from the Supplier: Initially, you can ask your supplier to provide you with photos of the product. This can give you a starting point to understand how the product looks and what features you might want to highlight. However, be cautious about using these images directly on your Amazon listing. Suppliers often provide the same images to multiple buyers, which can lead to your listing looking generic and unoriginal. Order Samples: Order samples of the product from your supplier. This is a critical step not only for assessing product quality but also for creating unique and high-quality images. Having the product in hand allows you to take your own photos or hire a professional photographer to do so. Hire a Professional Photographer: Consider hiring a professional photographer who specializes in product photography. They can help you create high-quality images that meet Amazon’s requirements and stand out from competitors. Ensure the photographer is aware of Amazon’s image guidelines, such as having a pure white background, showing the product clearly, and using high-resolution images. Create Unique and Engaging Images: Use the opportunity to create a variety of images, including lifestyle shots, infographics, and close-ups of important features. Highlight the unique selling points of your product and address any common customer concerns or questions through your images. Review Amazon’s Image Requirements: Make sure your images comply with Amazon’s image requirements. This includes having a minimum image size of 1000 pixels on the longest side, using a pure white background, and ensuring the product occupies at least 85% of the image frame. Utilize Jungle Scout Resources: Check out Jungle Scout’s resources, such as their KZbin series on optimizing Amazon listings, which includes tips on creating effective product images. Watch the video on the "20 types of images that convert sales on Amazon" to get ideas on different types of images that can enhance your listing. By following these steps, you can ensure that your product images are not only compliant with Amazon’s requirements but also compelling enough to attract potential buyers. Hope this helps!🧡

Fantastic video! I just have a few questions regarding the email template for the manufacturers if you don’t mind answering. 1. When you say “identical product” for the reference product link, does this mean it should be from the same manufacturer being emailed, or just generally the same product? 2. With the “product specification” on the email template, what are the dimensions referencing to? 3. With the “product specification” section, what should be included in the “customer research innovation details?”

I have a question: Do you have to have a business or LLC to sell on Amazon?Thanks in advance!
@junglescout14 күн бұрын
No, you do not need to have a business or an LLC to sell on Amazon. You can start selling as an individual without any formal business structure. This is a common misconception, but Amazon allows individuals to set up a Seller Central account and begin selling without the need for an LLC or any existing business. However, there are some advantages to having an LLC. An LLC can provide a layer of protection by separating your personal assets from your business liabilities, which can be beneficial if any legal issues arise. Additionally, having an LLC can make it easier to obtain a business credit card, which can offer rewards and help manage your business finances separately from your personal finances. If you're just starting out and have limited funds, it's perfectly fine to begin selling as an individual. You can always form an LLC later on as your business grows and you see the need for the additional benefits it provides. The process of setting up an LLC is relatively straightforward and can be done through services like LegalZoom, or you can handle it yourself to save on costs. In summary, while having an LLC can offer certain benefits, it is not a requirement to start selling on Amazon. You can begin as an individual and transition to a formal business structure when it makes sense for your business. I hope this helps!🧡

@junglescoutАй бұрын
Hello!👋 Error code 8572 is what the system throws when the product you're listing doesn't match with the UPC. Amazon uses the GS1 database to verify all UPCs. The most common reason for this error is that the UPC is identified as invalid. This can be due to the UPC from GS1 being fairly new and that Amazon is waiting for updates from GS1 to validate the UPCs. The other reason the UPC could be identified as invalid is because the brand information you provided for your product to GS1 doesn't match exactly what you are providing to Amazon as the Brand name. If you recently purchased the UPC from GS1.org, I recommend waiting at least 72 hours or up to a week before trying to use it in Seller Central. Also, the brand name you entered in GS1 must match the brand you entered in Seller Central. Alternatively, you can try requesting a GTIN/UPC exemption. This will allow you to list products without a UPC code. I recommend trying it, and hopefully, Amazon can approve it for you. You can check out this article for more information: www.junglescout.com/resources/articles/gtin-exemption-amazon/

@@junglescoutthanks for the reply. So under product identity in listing, should i keep the brand name as generic or use the brand name i used in GS1? Keeping in mind that I don’t have a trademark , so when I tried using the brand name in my listing amazon asked me for brand authorization to continue. Not sure how to solve this, should i try generating a new UPC in GS 1 without a brand / choose it to be generic? Pls advise thanks
@junglescoutАй бұрын
You should use the Brand entered in GS1 as that's what they will validate
@bahabalaa1421Ай бұрын
@ turns out I need to apply for brand authorization through Amazon first
@junglescoutАй бұрын
When listing your product on Amazon, it's crucial to ensure that the Brand Name section matches the brand name exactly as it is in the GS1 database. However, since you don't have a trademark and Amazon is asking for brand authorization, you have a couple of options to consider: GTIN Exemption: Since you don't have a trademark, you can apply for a GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) exemption. This allows you to list your product on Amazon without a UPC, and you can use a brand name even if it's not trademarked. To do this, go to the Amazon Seller Central, navigate to the "Add a Product" section, and apply for a GTIN exemption. You will need to provide some information about your product and potentially a website or other proof of your brand. Use a Generic Brand Name: If you prefer not to go through the GTIN exemption process, you can list your product under a generic brand name. This means you won't use your specific brand name, but rather a more general term. However, this might not be ideal if you're trying to build brand recognition. Purchase a UPC from GS1: If you decide to stick with your brand name, ensure that you purchase your UPC codes directly from GS1. This is important because Amazon requires that the brand name in your listing matches exactly with the brand name in the GS1 database. If you choose this route, make sure your brand name is consistent across all platforms. Ultimately, if you're aiming to build a brand and have plans to trademark in the future, pursuing a GTIN exemption might be the best route. This allows you to use your brand name without immediate trademark registration, giving you time to establish your brand identity. Hope this helps!

How would you suggest going about structuring my store if, I have several products that are completely unrelated to one another by category definition? Let's say for the purpose of demonstration, I have identified 3 underserved categories like, Adult incontinence, dog beds, and educational toys for toddlers. Should I create completely separate accounts/stores? Is it beneficial to have separate accounts for each disparate product, Or should I just focus on a specific market and dominate that with products for that vertical and forget about the others?

around1:12:55, you say that the trademark registration takes a 1-2 years, and therefor one can not get approved for amazon brand registry until the trademark is registered. And then add if one uses amazon ip accelerator program, they won't need to wait for the trademark to be registered and they can instantly apply for amazon brand registry. The service that amazon provides in the ip accelerator program are around 600-700 dollars to register for a trademark, whereas if one does the registration themself with USPTO, it will cost ~$250. I thought you can apply and get approved for amazon brand registry program even with a pending trademark. So, therefore you can apply for the trademark yourself and then apply for amazon brand registry with a pending trademark. Would you please clarify on this?

I have another question and need help - I went ahead and bought UPC code from GS1 - around 10 of them and now trying to list the product on Amazon but its giving me error 8572. Does the name i registered on GS1 should match what I list on Amazon? I haven't registered the company so I am putting it as Generic on Amazon while GS1 allowed me to use any name so I used my company name (which i will register later as). Is this the reason of error?
@junglescout11 ай бұрын
The product ID is associated with a brand that you are not authorized to sell. To resolve error 8572, you will need to provide Amazon with proof that you are the authorized seller of the product and that the product ID is correct. You can do this by submitting a GS1 product authentication certificate.

However, after applying filters for a price range of $20-$70 and requiring products to have at least 500 reviews, the opportunity score changed to high demand and medium competition due to the more specific criteria. Should we consider the opportunity score before applying filters, or focus on the score after setting the price and review filters?
