Thanks for the video Deya. I wish I would have seen this before purchasing Honeybooks. Thinking about cancelling it especialy since I only have two clients on a retainer. Maybe I could just stick with Wave or try Dubsado out? Which of the two do you prefer? Thanks again!

Do invoices need to be signed / signature field ? either by the sender or the client or both ?
@shantanuneema5 ай бұрын
If money is taken before disclosure of contract terms, and the client signs it. Does it make the contract illegal. I found the contract terms illegal later violating federal and state laws

the problem is those invoice softwares don't work outside the US, Canada, and Europe
@wameАй бұрын
Respectfully, did you even check? Bc most of the software she mentioned are available (with free versions) in Australia and African countries.

Hey your content just popped in mu feed and I really enjoyed but I noticed that you have only 2 tags in the video due to which the reach of this will be low. I have many points which can help you to make the content more optimistic. If you want more please let me know or connect somewhere else.

I'm gonna ask this I know this video is old, but why do people send invoices? I notice it's huge thing with the design community. Why not have a payment link where they buy the package, and they are automatically charged. And maybe if it's payments on a timeline, they are automatically recurringly charged for the other payments. And why do they do contracts? You can just list out exactly what they get on the website page where they buy the package. Contracts tend to scare people, when a well designed informative page can relay the same information without seeming scary and putting a wrench in the middle of things. Both of these violate the basic principle of sales where you want to make it as easy as possible for your customer to buy from you. If they say they're interested, and then you have to send them this contract and invoice and then they have to manually remember to pay it. That adds so many steps that may overwhelm people.

Thanks, Deya for the video, I just found your channel. I am into web development, and I've never done freelance before. One topic I noticed you didn't cover is, is it recommended to sign yourself off as a LLS, LLC for legal purposes? I am in New York City, so I am not quite certain. I guess I will google and see if I can find this info. But if you are familiar with LLS or LLC's and if you are using one, could you please explain for you're regen how it may work for you? if you don't need one for freelance work? Thank you for the very informative video. I literally decided 20 minutes ago to go the freelance route, so I have so many questions I need to look into, thank you once again.
@MyNameIsDeya2 жыл бұрын
Hi William! Congrats on making the decision to go freelance - so exciting! Re: your other Q: I'm not based in the US so I'm not the best person to give advice on that -- I'd highly recommend joining freelancing communities in your state/country to find out what people locally are doing. You'll get way more accurate info that way!
@DevlogBill2 жыл бұрын
@@MyNameIsDeya Thank you Deya for getting back to me. I will check the local communities around here and check what the New York State law requirements are.

Hi Deya, I have one question. Please help me out. "As a social media manager, when I give a certain start date on the contract then the client will expect me to start posting from the first week itself. But it is a bit tricky when we are first starting out with a client as a social media manager, because in the first week we also need to get the questionnaire from client, formulate strategy, create content calendar and then actually create the content before I can post anything. So in this situation how to communicate the same to the client that I need 2-4 days of buffer before I first start posting and also how to put that in the contract?"
@MyNameIsDeya11 ай бұрын
hey! i'd just write that into the contract + timeline, that's very standard in the contracts that I've signed with social media managers that there is an initial 1-2 week set up period before posts will be scheduled + go live!
