Very well explained covering each aspect of oiling a bat. Way to go hanif, looking forward for more such series. But I have one query - the new bats we purchase already has a wax coating. Does it effect the absorption of oil in the surface or should we sand it a little before oiling ?!

Thank you. The oil is absorbed with no issues at all. So there should be no reason to sand the bat before hand.

Small fine cracks you can use super glue, deep big cracks I would recommend wood glue and clamps. I will try and include this kind of repair in our series.
