I remember when I was in the trade with the early BMW TDS engines I could get the oil clean by draining the oil piping hot and at operating temperature all those bow by gases make the engine oil thick black

Hi There, great video! You're the only person doing a video of a T6 service that has the same engine orientation and oil filter location as me 🤣. I live in NZ and was beginning to think I had the only one! Can I ask you what the oil filter type and part number is? All the other videos show an undermounted plastic container with a secondary hex drain plug on the end with a simple paper/fibre cartridge insert. Also, you appear to have a standard hex sump plug, whereas mine appears to have a female Torx sump plug. Did you change yours to a hex nut type?

Hi Mat, the oil filter we used was a standard spin on style filter, link here: www.justkampers.com/03l115561-oil-filter-2-0-turbo-diesel-cfca-vw-t5-2010-2015-t6-2015-on.html Ours has always been hex type but I do think it varies as we have seen both. Hope that helps :)

Gonna cost you a small fortune to do it this way…:) 19mm for sump plug. I personally change air and oil filter every service 🚌 😊

Hi, it's a small cost. As once it's done it's easier to keep the oil clean on each oil change. Also looking after your engine the best you can.
