How to set a scanning range on Quansheng UV-K5 (Egzumer)

I accessed the "hidden menu" Very interesting, and allows full spectrum TX... not particularly a wise decision if you dont know what you're doing Lol!! I did it just to have a play about, and then reverted it back to the basic "safer" TX options. I might get another and try the Hardware physical mod for full HF TX If I brick it, at least I'll have a spare battery, antenna and charger 😂

I flashed my radio with Egzumer last night successfully but I’m not sure if it’s just phsyco acoustics but it seems the quality of the sound is much better.

Not so sure. Trouble with colour screens is that they dont stay on all the time unless you drain the battery.

New to this one so forgive the question. Can you scan between set channels in memory mode? If so is it as simple as leaving the higher and lower frequencies in memory mode and set, say m1 on the low and m7 on the high ? Great videos. Btw 👍🏻

No i dont think you can. Only a full memory channel scan or freq range scanning.

Erm, so past 3 months ive just been pressing alsorts to get a nose, finally found your page, im trying to follow what your doing here, but mine does show or do same as what yours is doing, ive checked sticker on the rear and say it is the same unit. Think i need to rest it, but not sure on how to do this, but i wanting to learn how to make signal boosters, little solar panel then i can leave them at family houses and make a pretty good signal,

I have retevis model and flashed the egzumer firmware , all good but found when checking power out that from 424.5-434.5 mhz there is no output of rf yet it says it is txing. Go above 434.5 and power out is 5.1 watts. If you drop the power to medium then this strange behaviour goes away , tried all the resets , configured, calibrations etc nothing changes. Flash the original k5 factory firmware and the problem goes away ......any ideas ?

Ok does the radio have to be modded to make this work when I hold the 5 key down all it does is change the frequency of I try to long press the 2 key it just changes the frequency I have to hit through F and then the 2 key to get it to change between the a&b . If I hit the f and 5 it does something different the what you are showing

Maybe you can help. I'm curious on something. I am a licensed ham and I mostly do HF stuff. My current antenna is a ZS6BKW. If I connect my quansheng to this antenna will it receive CB band signals? May be a dumb question but I rarely venture out of the HF band.

Hi. You would need to check the tuning range on your dipole antenna. As I am not a ham I am not sure but it needs to cover the 27 MHz band.

Just received mine, Pre-modded.... Why can i not enter the exact frequency? I changed the frequency steps in the menu... Right down to its lowest.. But anytime i want to key in a certain frequency "446.00625" for PMR446 CH1.. it just puts it to the nearest frequency that falls within the steps... I cant set the steps to 0.. and key in an exact frequency.... My UV5R can.. lol

It only tunes down to 17 KHz so you dont really get much ham radio. For CB you could try a mobile antenna or a SMA 27 MHZ telescopic whip. Search on ebay.
