You are a God. Bought one of these and tossed it into my box of 12v crap that I'll never use as I couldn't work out how to use it. Explains it perfectly!

Thanks for this. I’m about to rent my house and I have one of these controlling the pool pump. You’ve just saved me having to make a video for the tenant!
@KeithJohn-qd6pr5 ай бұрын
this is a switch controlled by a little timer, A pool pump may draw too many amps to run through this switch. running a pool pump with something more substantial then a 10 dollar timer might be a good plan

Hi Rudi, This style timer came installed on our "Just Vertical Garden" system. (1) Can you change the time from 24 hr. setting? (2) Our timer comes on at our programmed times, but for some strange reason it comes back on 6 hours later in the middle of the night. Even though all the 16 optional programs are blank, and idea on how to correct this? I have tried contacting Just Vertical garden company, but their solution is to keep sending me the setup manual that I have already followed numerous times.

Mine has stopped working on the timer , could it be the internal battery?

Can I set it and save it and then use it again a few days later? Is there any other way other than pressing "C" to turn the display back on?

Thanks for the video. I’m considering buying one as I’m looking to make an automatic feeder for cattle. I’m wondering if this can be set to run for a period of seconds? If I had a rotary valve in the bottom of a hopper I may only want it to turn on to feed out for 5-10 seconds and I’m wondering if that’s possible with this?

No, one minute is the minimal on time. There are other circuits on amazon which can be used togehter with a timer to create second accurate 'on' times. Search for something like 'trigger switch timer'.
@danielalarcon29824 ай бұрын
I have been searching one of those but with a countdown timer I think that don't exist, I need to turn on a load everyday for 1 hour, but occasionally I need to turn on manually for 1 hour too.

Thanks mate very useful. I have one that I want to turn on some small heater fans. Do you have any idea how many amps draw this can handle. The fans are 100w so about 9amps each and I have 3 fans (27amps).
@rudijones Жыл бұрын
These are rated for 16A max. You can still use this but would be a good idea to add a simple automotive style relay that can handle up to 40 amps. The timer co tells the relay and the relay does the heavy switching of your 27A load. Link here: a.co/d/hHqlKsz

Hi Rudi, Great video. Output shows 200-250 vac, website shows 12 vdc output. I have a 5 amp 12 vdc load. Will this work? Thanks Matt
@MrCONNORMCD10 ай бұрын
200-250 vac is the limit like you would see on a fuse, doesnt mean thats the circuit voltage timer is for low voltage DC so should work
@Bobcagon11 ай бұрын
Thanks Rudi for posting on this timer. One issue I can’t find the answer to is the time length on the inner 3 volt battery used to control the display. The power on LED light is a weak point as it has a draw down factor greater than the LCD numbers. My concern is should one rely on this battery in cases where they won’t be monitoring it say as a chicken door opener for long periods? If the battery voltage drops then the door actuator won’t be able to function leaving the chickens locked in or out.

you didnt show the wiring to the pump you are using. Only 1 wire on the exit side of the timer. I assume, and you should have explained that the out wire from the pump would go to the negative on the battery. Is that correct?

hi, just a question, I would like to switch 24V DC and for example for alimentacion use 12V. Can I switch 24V DC or only 220V? thanx for answer

12v only for power, it should switch the 24v circuit.

Does it lose all the programs you've set if 12 volts is disconnected? Also, if no programs are set, is it normal for the Manual function to be disabled? 3rd question: what does the C/R button do? Thanks in advance

The timer has a rectifier bridge so it doesn't matter where you connect positive voltage and ground.

@@rudijones Thank you. I finally figured it out. It is as much a relay as a switch. I once built a branch trimming device (120v) with a relay of 12v. I needed both hands to operate the trimmer so I put a doorbell in my mouth. It worked fantastic.

none can set up different times on off each day : The issue is as you press prog for each eg off time it will jump to a different day Or even multiple days like it or not If you dont notice this you then override what you have just done . Is it so your video shows you getting mildly irritated with this keep happening ? If you just want it to go on an off once a day same day each week fine Anything else I wouldn't recommend this Ms O

How to on for 2 mins and off for 10 mins. For every day
@engineerdeluxe6 күн бұрын
That is not possible.
@engineerdeluxe6 күн бұрын
You can program 17 on/off operations. You can switch it on 17 times for 2 minutes and leave it off for 10 minutes in between. But this will only cover 204 minutes of the day.
