How to Set an LG TV to Default to HDMI Device

Thanks mate you help me setup my mother's LG OLED Smart TV to startup at any TV channels she last watch instead of the complicated menu that starts when the TV starts up so that way my old senile mother won't struggle starting the tv in channel mode instead of the complicated menu mode startup menu. Thanks for the quick video - long time Samsung user and the TV would auto sense to whatever device was active. I'm surprised the LG doesnt do this. If I was using a built in app, and I hit the home button on my roku it would change, if I turned on my xbox it would auto sense and change to that input. Does LG have this feature hidden somewhere? Nice TV though

HELP ! I have a 2019 LG webOS TV SJ8500. I connected the Roku stick to an HDMI port but my sound is not great on streaming apps (AppleTV & Max) and I can barely hear the dialogue from the background music on the show. So should I connect the Roku stick to the HDMI ARC port ? Will that give me better sound ? Or is the ARC port ONLY for soundbars and external devices ? The Sound Out setting on the TV is currently on "Internal TV Speaker + Audio Out (Optical)". This is TOO MUCH for me to understand !!

@alicat1059, it's difficult to diagnose your TV with seeing or knowing it. Most TVs have slight differences even within the same models. The optical output is for audio, so you might want to try connecting your sound bar using an optical cable if it has an optical port. If the TV is not connect via an optional cable, the unit should not be set to optical output. If the TV is connected to the sound bar via HDMI, it is recommended that you change the TV's audio output to HDMI. I hope this helps.

Any idea if this can be done without LG remote? Have a spectrum remote programed to LG but all remote features to navagate don't seem to work. When turn tv on it's on cable then goes to a black screen after 10 seconds stays black for 2 seconds then goes to smart tv automatically
