I figured this one out as I was watching your video, basically I was continually pressing the return button to exit out of apps, then I realized that if I just hold down the return button the option to exit an app appears which is much easier than hitting back over and over.

Hi Steve, Adjust Logo Brightness should be set High to avoid pixel burn-in due to a bright log. High setting does not mean that logo will be set to have high brightness as you suggested in the video. High means that the TV would do a "higher adjustment" to the logo to avoid burn-in. Please refer to User Manual page 11 for "Recommendations for Minimizing Image Retention"

I believe it is possible. If you go to the very bottom of the Home screen, you should see an EDIT button which allows you to move the entries up and down.

It’s webOS operating system. Google play works on Android mainly. You can’t do that, just for example ,it’s as if I was wanting to install a Microsoft Windows program on my Apple Mac. It won’t work.

Still there is 1 annoying thing with my LG TV and that is Sound Share, that thing keeps popping up for me to link my mobile with my TV, I hate it and want to get rid off it, can't find anything online for it. Got a couple LG’s & really like them but when I go to turn the TV on (using my cable providers remote), it takes quite a while before the picture comes up on the screen. I’ve got it set to where it will display the last channel I was on. Why is there such a long delay when I power on the tv using the remote? Ty!

In addition to the quick access buttons, if you long press the Home button it switches back and forth between the last two sources. I use it to avoid commercials when watching live sports. I'll have the game playing on Input 1 and when the commercials start I switch over to the KZbin app where I have a highlight reel or something else playing and then switch back after a couple of minutes. I have KZbin Premium so I don't see adds on KZbin either. Can you tell I hate ads? 😂 Super helpful video, thank you!

selecting low on logo dimming is the lower setting, high setting means it dimming the logos more high is the better setting

Yeah, it doesn't make sense to have a ," High" setting for logo protection that makes it brighter! Especially when the other options are for , " Low" protection and Off for no protection at all!

HELP!!! I just bought an LG TV yesterday and many of the menu items that show on this and other KZbin videos are not included in my LG Settings. For example, in this video, we are instructed to go to "Home Settings", then "Home Auto Launch". There is no menu item enetitled "Home Auto Launch" in the Home Settings. Only "Power On Screen", "Home Protection", and "Content Recommendation". What are the alternatives here? This is the case under many categories on my new LG TV. Things that are shown on KZbin videos are either not included in my Settings menu, or a grayed out. Can anyone give me some guidance here?

Important note for getting rid of the LG logo: You have to go to „Live TV“ before hitting the mute button three times. It does otherwise not open the menu.

Thanks for the terrific info, Steve. I have a question though. On my older model LG TV I am able to format my USB sticks and after doing so I put films onto the USB stick and can play them. The films come up listed so I can choose easily what to watch. However, they don't seem to work so well on this newer model. Has LG made changes? Also, I haven't been able to find a way of formatting USB sticks on the new model. Any ideas you can give me to help with this, please?

i really like pluto tv, im trying to convince my mom to get rid of our cable monthly bill by cancelling it nd just keep the internet. i believe cable + internet is well over $200+ a month ($50 being the internet bill by itself). thats a ton of savings. jail broken firestick on top of that ir u know where to acquire one ad ur golden. never dealt with the firestick personally but everyone i know loves it esp if its jail broken.

Here's a good one: Make sure to edit the Aspect Ratio on all inputs because for SOME REASON most TVs default to "Zoomed" or "Cinema". Should either be "Original" or "16:9" to see the full image as intended.

Be aware that the logo brightness set to high is the maximum effect where low or off is lesser dimming of bright logos. This should be set to high as per LG website in order to help avoid screen damage.

I confirmed in the manual, the the Low/High refers to the amount of reduction of logo brightness (not the way described in this video). So if you want the highest protection from burn in...set it to high.

Boy, am I glad I found THIS !! Great set, but I had no idea how to set up most of the things you discuss here. I was getting pretty frustrated. Now if ONLY I could get the remote to take less than 3 seconds to open menus, change inputs, etc, this would be the perfect TV. I ended up purchasing an aftermarket magic remote on Amazon for 5 bucks. Works great too. The regular non-magic remote works fine for all of these items BTW

Steve, I have a specific issue. I set up my lg55uq8000 tv with a cable remote. I would prefer to operate the tv with the cable remote. I plugged my cable in the hdmi2 port. I set the tv to turn on at hdmi2. I can not get the tv to remember to turn on to hdmi2. I set up every other tv to turn on with the cable remote direct to the hdmi port cable is plugged into. Is lg the only tv that requires using the tv remote? I also called their support, they were no help. This is driving me crazy

So I use KZbin TV as my main way to watch tv. It gets annoying that when I turn on my TV every time it’s on this like LG TV watch option where it says no signal? It use to not say that but maybe you get a free subscription when you first have the TV or somethin. Anyway, I then have to hit the home button and scroll over to KZbin tv every time. Is there a way to automatically open KZbin TV when I turn on my tv each time or guess could do that quick link like you shied by setting it where I hit the 1 to open. Thanks!

I don't know if I did something to my LG Smart TV 32", but, I lost the display time in the upper right corner of the tv and I can't use the right arrow anymore to find out what is on next. It just says channel with the up and down arrows. Do you have any suggestions? Maybe I unknowingly did something or when it was raining and thunder and lightening did it change these settings on me?
