Great vids, Donnie. Got a Mac 140, no spark. Reset points gap, but still no spark. Measured resistance at coil- 8.6k ohm secondary, but seems like primary is open…love the little guy, but people want $100 for a coil. Might just put it back together as a display piece 👍🇨🇦

Think about the money most people waist on things they don't need...that saw deserves to live...

I just tore my mini mac 30 apart today to clean it up. Was filthy from sitting for lord knows how many years. I just set everything with a matchbook. Check it all with a feeler and it's dead nuts on!

Fuel, spark, and, compression. I love the easy fix when it just needs the points cleaned.

Rebuilding a Mac 35 right now but don't seem to remember where the long black coil wire goes and the little short green one from the condenser goes. Do both of them mount to that top bolt going into the points? The shapes in the wire lead me to believe that's where they go.

Great video. I have the Mini Mac 35 and need to adjust the points but I cannot get the fan off to get to the points. Does the nut turn counter clock wise to loosen or clockwise? The nut has not been off in 40 plus years and I cannot break it loose so I want to make sure I am turning it the correct way. Appreciate any suggestions to get it off.

if someone were to have cleaned the points with 2000 grit sandpaper would that have destroyed the points? I'm asking for a friend.

OK, now I have to pull the two out from under the bench, they have been there for 15 plus years. Didn't know what to do with them :)

@@donnywalker4691 Was when I was 13 I was working on the dirt bikes ( Bultaco's) as a 13 yr old could. Didn't touch saws until 14 and those were Poulans :( Guess neither brand really survived, in fact didn't the current "McCulloch" brand sell a Poulan built saw for a little while?? Guess I was on the right side of THAT eh?

@@donnywalker4691 Nothing a little rubber insulation "paste" & shrink wraps can't fix... I think. I HOPE. I remember once cutting one of those and putting a wire in like a worm on a fish hook, then shrink wrap...u think it worked?

Mini mac? Just slide it back under the bench. 😁

I don't understand why people have such a tough time or get so frustrated working on mini macs. they are like the easiest saw ever to work on.

Donny, what do YOU think has the best ability to run a 32” bar stock: 572XP OR a MS462? I don’t have the personal confidence or tools for porting OR someone close by THAT I TRUST for porting a saw. You PERSONAL opinion is important to me!
@donnywalker46912 жыл бұрын
Those both are good and stock can run 32 inch doing a muffler mod makes a big difference
