I snapped the plastic throttle body linkage so drilled holes in the top near the carbie screws and made it out of wire Plus the caps for oil n petroleum broke so fitted to Champagne corks My Grandpa brought it in 1977 It’s a little beast n sounds like a trail bike

I have one of these Mini Mac 35s. I've had it apart a few times and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. It does get easier every time, lol! It has the autosharp feature but I can't really say that it sharpens the chain, at least not in my experience. Also, I have had success with plastic welding the fuel tank crack. You need a super hot soldering iron. It closed right up and has stopped leaking. So it can definitely be done.

Mine was a piece of cake to disassemble and reassemble. My gas hose doesn't have the locator tab, the locator tab is on the gas tank. Only had to use needle nose through the locator slot to make sure the line was on the tank nipple.

That fitting on the tank actually is removable...the o-ring can stick and make it a bear though. I'll have to remember your technique and give it a try. Thanks for sharing!

Great video. I am looking for a few suggestions. I found a mini Mac in the garbage. I am having a few issues. The idle lock screw was in the bottom of the case. How should I start to adjust this. All the way in partially out ? The spring on the screw where does it go ? Inside the metal sleeve or under the metal sleeve? I seem to have a slight fuel leak. If I have the engine out of the housing and connect fuel tank it seems fine I can assemble it and it also seems fine. When I try to start it that is when I see a fuel leak. Is it possible the carb is getting to muck fuel and it is leaking out of the screen in the back of carb. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give.

Just as a lay man of the mini mac I would say it's a goldilocks effect of making the easy stuff to get to harder to get to and the harder stuff to get to really easy comparatively speaking of course

Obviously this saw has the Zama carb. The versions with the Walbro use a different fuel line system and can’t be replaced with regular Tygon hose. They use a special hose that has a bell on the end that connects to the tank. Tank is different as well. Line is hard to find and expen$ive. Just went thru this on my Mini Mac 25. Luckily a local shop who used to be a Mcculloch dealer still had one in stock after all these years at half the eBay price. And I would not use Loctite Red. The Blue should be plenty strong enough. Red would be overkill IMHO.

I have the exact model! I found it in my shed.. The coil is bad, and I have no idea how to get to the coil, can you make a vid on how to get to the broken coil?

I don't have one of these in the shop right now, but reverse this video and you are there. In the opening frames you can see the coil just below the carburetor. Two screws and one wire...not bad if you get the saw out of the case in the reverse of this video.

can anyone tell me if there is a fuel filter for this saw? I have a 2.0 super 16 and I dont see one on the tank however after the gas line it goes into a plastic nipple that slides into the gas/oil tank and there is some kind of screen it looks like in the gas tank but it doesnt seem like it comes out???

Hi Dwayne, the part# is 83876 but they've gotten very hard to find. I'm not aware of a source for a new one. You'll likely have to keep an eye on Ebay for a good used one, but they go quick. The Mini Mac 1 through Mini Mac 35 should be compatible.

Yes, McCulloch produced a number of saws in Ward's orange. Same product other than the paint color.
