you need open settings' in the clockwise app. which should be 'Auto' at top, then scroll down to 'Timezone', select 'custom' at bottom, then Select your time zone from dropdown window and save.. otherwise watch will revert to Tokyo time

It is the best practice to set the JDM watch's home time zone to Japan, and current working time zone to where you are, and to use JJY tower signal on the ClockWave app.

This is probably a silly question, but if you sync it, will the watch 'know' the year/month so that at the end of the month the date is correct?
@gesalbte9 күн бұрын
My understanding is no. Only GPS solar watches know that. For most radio solar watches, you have to manually skip the 31st day (or the last few days) in the beginning of the 5 months (Feb, Apr, June, Sep, Nov) every year.

@@gesalbte hi gesalbte! good news - Since it has been a while, I had done some research - the manual says it has a perpetual calendar as confirmed by a watchuseek user "it always has the right time and always has the right weekday and date thanks to the perpetual calendar. "

Hi Simon. So in settings I should have the JJY station selected and then under time zone choose auto? Thanks a lot.

Ok I feel like this is s stupid question.. but.... on this watch can you adjust the time like normally using the crown to change the time and day/date ?
@soulside3 ай бұрын
You can also adjust it manually without the app.
@gesalbte9 күн бұрын
Yes. But it's better to get a non-radio solar watch if you prefer manually setting the time. Without a radio receiver, the solar watch would be much cheaper.

So after setting the time in UK will I need to set it again at some point? If yes after how long? How precise will it keep the time?

So do I understand correctly, that this watch can only synchronized with the Japanese signal? If so, I set the watch 8 hours back to the right time zone like you explained in your other video. Japan to Germany is 8 hours. It worked. But it’s still 8 seconds behind the signal. PLEASE HELP!!!! I’m getting really angry and frustrated!
@danielw.31586 ай бұрын
if you are adjusting the time zone, you are not setting the time. If done like within this video, it will synchronize with your smartphone. Your smartphone simulates being the time emitting time source in Japan.
@gesalbte9 күн бұрын
Have the watch's user manual handy. Set the watch's home time zone to Japan, current time zone to Germany, and sync with the Clock Wave app transmitting JJY signal.

Doesn't work. I’m glad you told to push the A button longer so the second hand jumps to RX but after that nothing happens. Second hand is jumping to H to M back to H agin. Every two minutes the second hand turns 2 times and stops at H again. After a few minutes it starts running a Japanese time again but 8 second behind. I’m so pissed right now I want to throw it in the trash.

I tried it but it was off by 1 hour...what could be causing that?
@simonthewatchguy60733 жыл бұрын
What are your settings in the clock wave app? Also, watch my video called “How to adjust the time zone on the PMD56-2952”. You need to use the technique I teach you in the video to move the second hand forward by 1 second, this will adjust the watch forward (or backwards if you go backwards) by 1 hour. Then once you’ve done this sync your watch again using the clock wave app and it should now set the right time. Let me know if this solves it. I hope this makes sense!
@gesalbte9 күн бұрын
Could be daylight saving time settings. Use the user manual to see how to toggle that setting on the watch.

It usually works better to put the watch on the top part of the phone
@simonthewatchguy60733 жыл бұрын
The speakers is the part of the phone that emits the radio wave/signal
@yogiyoda3 жыл бұрын
@@simonthewatchguy6073 - The speakers don't emit a radio wave. They emit a sound/vibration that somehow still manages to work on the watches receiver. Most phones have a better speaker on the top so it usually works better to place the watch there as opposed to the bottom of the phone as shown in this video
@simonthewatchguy60733 жыл бұрын
@@yogiyoda yes that sound that you mention comes out of the speakers which are located at the bottom of my phone. If they come out of the top on a different model of phone, then definitely place Watch there :-)
