Good video. G3X is still a great unit, and works on batteries!

thanks! very useful, just got a G3X, after having a G3NX, so far it seems G3X sounds better. And all the extras that G3NX does not have, like outputs and audio inferface. So far, so good

Hey Johan! I recently found your chanel and i honestly really like your uploads! Both your gear reviews and your guitar playing are really nice and have a "human" touch rather than a "youtuber pro" style! Concerning the zoom g3x: Owning both the line6 hx and the zoomg3x , how would you rate the zoom? I know the line6 is on a different level but, does the zoom have satisfying sounds? I'm considering buying the line6 pod go and i was wandering if i could get sufficiently good tones from the zoom g3xn (the current model) I'm not concerned in build quality and ease of use etc. Just the sounds! Keep up the good work!!

Hey Orfeas ! Just read your comment, thanks so much for the kind words and for taking the time to write all this ! ❤️ I'm really happy if any "humanity" can be "perceived" from these videos, really am. Thank you again ! ❤️ I'll make sure to answer your question in more details tomorrow, but basically if you can afford the Pod Go and are mainly looking for the best tones possible, definitely this one would be your best bet ? Get back to you tom', so late here aha ! Have a great night !

@@JohanJoosLaur Thanx for the immediate response! I am considering the Pod go, the Nux MG30, and the Headrush Mx5. I thought maybe i could get away with murder with a Zoom G3xn hahaha! Given the fact that the G3xn goes for €205, and the Nux €295 , its seems obvious that i'd chose the Nux. The Pod Go is + €200 so i dont know if its worth it, given that the Helix tech is 6 years old now... Thanx again and sorry for the long posts...

@Orfeas Ch You're very welcome ! Ahahaha made me laugh 😂 Okay so you're considering a lot of options which is great ! What style of playing are you mainly into ? Or a bit of everything maybe ? Are you really not considering buying used (don't know where you're from but it could be a great way to save money ?) ? My thoughts would be : at this price the G3XN isn't worth it I guess. Personally the G3X is a unit I love because of its capabilities in terms of switches, his simplicity and mainly because it is battery or USB powered ! But in terms of tone quality, I'd not even compare it to anything like a Pod Go or I assume a Nux MG30 etc...not even close. I assume the G3Xn sounds kinda the same as my G3X, so in your case I'd stay away from it unless you found one used cheap. My G3X for example I paid 50€ for it, they usely go for 60 to 80€ here used, and at this price if you're looking for a small but well made well thought multi effects that can work on batteries : I'd recommend it everyday. But not really for the tones, more for the all around advantages :) I'm actually interested by the NUX MG30 ! I'll try to get my hands on one of these at some point. Not even really for the tones, but for the interface which I think looks stunning. That's the point I'd highlight with all these modelers nowadays anyway : they all can sound great I believe, not that far at all from each other. The main thing to dissociate them is : which one has the user interface that suits me best, which one as the switching options or compact sizing that suits me best, etc...like for example if you're comparing the Pod GO & the NUX MG30 : they're SO different though ! The POD would have a lot more switching capabilities, which is great if you need these but not if you're mainly looking for a compact unit to use on your desk ? So it's all a matter of what works for you and what you're looking for. I don't know much about the MX5 (just saw a couple of videos) but I'm pretty sure it sounds great too...they all do aha ! In my opinion, for you to chose the best option for yourself, think about what you like and dislike about these units (Switching ? Interface ? Price ? Looper ? etc) more than the tones. And if you're on a budget (like many of us ahaha), think about second hand...😉 Sorry for the verrry long message, not sure it'll help you much but if you have any other question do not hesitate !

@@JohanJoosLaur Sorry fot the belated reply. Your info DID help a lot! Thank you very much! I play a mixture of styles (from heavy stuff to jazzy stuff) and i'm also starting to record my own compositions , so input and output options is a must for me (e.g. fx loop ) I live in Greece, and i have considered the second hand market, but i'm a bit hesitant when it comes to electronic devices... After reading your reply, i think i start leaning towards the nux for these reasons: - Compact size (as you mentioned) : Way smaller than the Pod Go, similar to the MX5 but €200 less -Sound quality: As you said, all three of them can deliver very good sounds, so i don't mind the interface or the lack of switches if i can get the sounds in the end! The only thing the Line6 has, and the others truly lack is the online community. There is a huge support when it comes to patches, presets, and profiles... I'm not really in a budget, but why give €200 more , when i can get what i need from the more afordable unit?! Thanx again Johan! Your input was really helpful! And your videos even more so! You prove that you can get amazing sounds from affordable gear! As long as you want to play music and express yourself, gear becomes so unimportant! You are a testament to that :) !

I didn't know you could do that !! Thought it was only Vol and Wah so maybe I should read the manual..... Can I ask you how is the little switch under the front of the pedal? Mine seems really low and hard to press, is mine at fault or is yours the same? Thank you. David

I think this is good for predetermined sets live and for exploring sounds. Multi effects seems a lot of work when changing effects so it's not practical for open jam. Pedalboard is more straightforward.
