Great video. I have a Biocube 32 that I'm setting up. Regarding the egg crate material, would it be a good idea to, in addition to protecting bottom, attach plastic plants so they won't float to the top? It would be buried by gravel substrate. Thanks

I have a BioCube 32, freshwater setup, and I am curious about the filter cartridge. They are selling these tanks, but good luck trying to find a replacement filter cartridge.....anywhere!! I have been able to find a couple on ebay and Amazon that cost anywhere from 134.00 to 300.00 for 6 cartridges. Just about a week ago they were 8.99 for 2 and you could find them just about anywhere!

Coralife recalled all of the filter cartridges a few weeks ago because the packaging had a funny smell. The filter cartridges should be available again in the next few weeks.

Although it says that it can be used for freshwater it’s really meant for saltwater more than freshwater and you could probably get a really good betta tank for 1/4 of the price

Yes, you want to leave the pump running. The pump will push water though the filter cartridge clearing up the water faster.

Depends on how foggy it is.... if you can see sand floating i will turn it off first and wait for 1 day to turn it on, sand can destroy filter sometimes

What is a drip loop?? You mention “make sure to have a drip loop”

Zachary Scott the drip loop is the way the cord dips down and back up so that if there were to be a leak the water would drip from the drip loop instead of traveling to the outlet

Make sure your electrical cord has enough length to droop down below the outlet, then back up. This will prevent water from traveling down the surface of the cord into the electrical outlet. If it's too short, use an extension cord to ensure you don't have a straight line to the outlet.
