Hey so about the battery being dead. Chromebooks (unless they have been sitting in the box for months) have battery in them, but for safety you need to connect it to power for a second for it to turn on. So you didn’t need to wait that long.

Can you use an external CD? What is the best way to transfer photo's from your camera. The USB port doesn't seem to read the CD or the picture information from a memory card. Is there something I cand do or isn't this possible on a Chromebook?

Hi Mate. It can, but with limited functionality. For example, some apps do not load, and the system is not built for being offline.

If you buy a Chromebook that supports a mobile data connection, sure you can do that. Most devices don't though. You'll have to specifically look for Chromebooks that are LTE/5G ready.

It is a linux based operating system. You can enable linux based apps on your device, but that is not recommended. Because it roots your device and you are highly likely to get attacked.
