Sometimes you just got to do it. Safety shmafety the gear noise goes away. Eventually all at one time followed by about four seconds of tires screeching depending on how fast you were going. After that quiet as a mouse forever.

Unless I missed it, looks like he forgot to measure carrier bearing (total) preload. To me, that is the more difficult one to set and just as important since carrier bearing preload prevents the ring from pushing away frim the pinion under load.

It was ok for that, the surface was steel. If the surface were aluminum, you are correct, it would have been at risk for damaging the sealant face.

@@jasonmorales1846 true and some don't know the difference between a Tahoe and a Blazer. Tahoe has 4 door's and a Blazer has 2 door's. Hell I'm old enough to know. Some of the older blazer's had a removable top and that's why they were called a truck. I've got an 1983 k-5 Blazer. But some folk's knows more than us old people. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Great vlog guys, very informative. At last you’ve finally sum-what, toned down the crap guitar solo's background music (well almost) never understood why American car shows seem to think this is a cool thing to add? guys its sooooo irritating. We want to see & hear great content, not awful heavy metal loud rubbish guitar solo’s background music.

For the love of God, why would anyone ever re-use all of that crusty old brake hardware, when it's maybe $5-$7 for a bag of new springs etc....?? 🤦

True, but these days I would much rather use oem vs the cheap “new” hardware. Can’t tell you how much new stuff I’ve had broken off. If it cleans up nice and isn’t mangled I have no problem re-using it.

Rather than paying abunch of money for different kinds of “setup” bearings just modify & use the old bearings as setup bearings.

No pinion depth check, and crushed the sleeve too far. .010" play is already at the very end of the spec, and it hasn't even seen the road yet. No worries though, the torn axle seal will run the bearings dry in no time, and they can rebuild it right the next time.
