just wanted to ask , I was just looking at my current broadband cables , they seem impossible to disconnect. Do ya think I'd be able to just use them with the new broadband box ? Thanks

Depends if current cables are virgin or a different supplier. If so then you will need a spanner to loosen the connectors at the ends

I don’t have the brown box, will they need to pull up my drive to install the wires, and can I choose where I want the wires to go into the house or is this the choice of the installer? Thanks

If you don’t have the brown box and can’t see any loose cables elsewhere on the outside of the property, then they will have to pull the cables from the street and put the box on the wall. This is done by one team. Then another team on another day take the cable from the box to the inside of the house. Aslong as your in, you can have your say where you want the cables going, aslong as it makes sense👍

hi mate looking to get virgin installed but was wandering how they get the cable to my house

Hi. If you go on the website it will tell you if your street is cabled. If so and you can get virgin, then then this means your street already has the cables installed. From there they would run the cable from the street to your house. If you had bushes on your drive they could run the cable under that. If you had block paving they would take that up and put the cable under then put the paving back down. Ect. It is a 3rd party company that install the cable from the street to your house. Remember it is their job so they will find the best way and do it everyday. Your house could already have it running to the house you just don’t realise. Look round the outside of your house for that brown box in the video or a different looking brown box. Or look for any cables coming out the ground.

does anyone know if virgin will install direct to an upstairs room? I already have one of their brown boxes at my front door.

Hi, it depends what you mean by direct. They will install to an upstairs room but say you lived in a terrace house and wanted it in a room in the middle, then they would obviously have to go through a room at the front or back of the house to get to the middle, but they would do this if that’s what you wanted. If you lived in a detached or semi and wanted it round the back then they would be able to go directly from the box and round the side of the house and up into that back bedroom.
