Hey Alphasxsignal-you're right-at around a dollar a go, you could buy 600 peppers from the grocery store-I yielded around 25 - 30 peppers per plant (300 - 360 total ) although I know I could've done a lot better in a sunnier spot. The buckets seem fine after one season so I'll give them another try. They are designed to withstand grow lights too so I think they're up to the job. I love being able to pick my own varieties, zero-miles away, with the added assurance that my produce is a clean as I grew it. Plus growing is fun! :) I appreciate you chiming in. For anyone looking to knock out aphids I managed to defend my fruit tree from in infestation with a two pronged approach. First I waited until the leaves were in the shade and out of the sun for the remainder the day. Next I took a garden hose with a powerful jet nozzle. I sprayed the tree down with powerful jets of water. This spray down helps dislodge aphids and larvae (eggs). Once the tree had dried off, I applied a mixture of neem oil and 2 tablespoons Diatomaceous earth using a resuable manual pump sprayer. I repeated this process a couple of times ove the course of two weeks. After a regular checkups the aphids are gone and my tree has survived. I diluted the neem oil according to the directions on the bottle. The Diatomaceous earth was mixed at a rate of two tablespoons per 1.5L of water.

A very interesting video, thanks for uploading Question - would some sort of "smoke bomb" help to kill the aphids? It would probably be ok for the plants but a smoke bomb might work. What are your thoughts??

how high is flooded? So how much is available in pots the water? the higher the better right? would be enough only 10 or 7 cm?

It floods as high as you see in the control bucket-I'd have to measure it but the whole root zone gets a flood for sure.

I grew in an indoor commercial marijuana grow and we got aphids. It was the absolute worst. They were on some plants so bad it was completely covering leaves and branches. We threw out fist fulls of lady bugs, parasitic wasps, even baby mantis. In the end, spraying every single crevice pesticide and quarantining each section after was the only way. I have so much respect and hate for aphids lol

How far down do you let your EC/PPM dip before re-upping nutrients? And when you do add more how much do you add?

I'd have answered this sooner but I happened to be working on a video that did the job for me. @a3T6e9FduuU Remember, plants uptake more water than minerals so the EC/PPMs of your reservoir (in a re-circulating hydroponic system) will actually tend to rise rather than fall over time.

It looks nice. Net pots could be smaller , roots grow in the water so big net pots and grow medium is not needed just the rock wool .the stem is not going to be 8" wide...lol......but .....it looks nice...right.
