Extremely helpful guide to setting up playback. I was scratching my head getting things to work before this video. Thanks!

How do you mix out of the box? I’ve done the DAW routing so I can control faders. How do I go about adding effects and printing them back into Pro Tools? A video would be helpful or a reply at the least. Thanks.

Is it a way to set all faders for saw remote? Or is it just the last 8?

Hey dude, this could be a useful vid. However... 1, now that the Midas board has been updated to Firmware 3.08, many of the screens you show in this do not match anymore, and 2, MAN... a little to shaky and fast moving on the camera! Any chance of walking through this again using a bit more steady and slower camera movement, show the screens longer, and with the current firmware?

Hello, just curious how you have your monitor mixes set up? Am using Cubase and M32 in studio. I currently have Aux mix set up to send mixes to booths. Interested in learning how you're doing it. Also, how are you routinng effects to the monitor mixes? Want to send verbs to Aux mixes w/o recording it.

If you use the monitor outputs on the board, Why do you have to select “LR Bus” for the monitor source? Is that just how the internal routing of the board works for those outputs?

I used to have a digital mixer and like the work flow much better than using a mouse. Question on your work flow. To me it makes sense to route all your tracks from your DAW and mix your music with the mixer. That way you can use all the built in effects on each channel. Then route them all back to a 2 bus in your DAW.

***** You can most definitely use the deck (M32) as outboard gear through the inputs and print the channels back into your DAW. IThe beatuty is I can make 2/3 of the faders inputs for printing and 1/3 of it for playback with the computer so i have control on both ends at my finger tips. Can't do that on analog.

Sorry didnt see ur response before. Darn I thought u could mix live on the daw with the faders. But as u said 8 is better than none. So in reality I can only track 16 mics at a time? Also, does it record str8 to the daw or to the board then have to transfer to daw? Thanx again for ur help I'm thinking of buying one that's why.

Germ City Studios You can have 32 mics coming into the M32 and all 32 inputs have really nice channel strips and award winning pre-amps. Connect the deck (M32) to the computer via USB. The M32 is your new audio interface and sends all 32 ch to the computer at 480mb per sec. which is plenty for 44.1k, 48k & 96k. You CAN MIX LIVE as you are printing straight into your DAW and also mix on playback using the last 8 faders via "DAW Remote". I set up some of the buttons on the other side of the "Main" Fader to go through the channels quickly.

Quick question, can i mix off the board in pro tools with all 32 faders?
@FUnKNUg9 жыл бұрын
No, like with all digital boards you have a control center of usually 8 faders to work with at a time. I can easily scroll through them with the short cut buttons no prob. Better than not having it at all
@FUnKNUg9 жыл бұрын
Germ City Studios I just realized there are 24 faders total. 16 are input faders and 8 are for separate banks like buses, DCA, Mains and Matrix. If you want to use all the bells and whistles you have to export the audio bus by bus (you only have 16) to the inputs of the board and mix 16 at a time then print into your DAW.

Why 44.1? Why not 48?
@5starsoundandproductions4739 жыл бұрын
Am I understanding this correctly that you are interfacing with the DAW at 44khz 24bit and NOT the 192KHZ 24bit which the board runs at?
@5starsoundandproductions4739 жыл бұрын
Exactly... I'm so surprised MIDAS would sacrifice quality like that..
@FUnKNUg9 жыл бұрын
The board at that time ran 44.1k now with the update it does 96khz. Just FYI for CD or MP3 purposes its all you need.
@ernestoaldaz8746 жыл бұрын
FUnKNUg now you can configure it to record at 96 khz? or we are still waiting for that?

Why would you choose 44.1 in 2018?
@vadimmartynyuk6 жыл бұрын
Triniti Coclough because 44.1khz is perfect audio quality
@triniticoclough63876 жыл бұрын
Vadim Martynyuk everyone knows that 48k is a higher quality as the math proves it. However the only main benefit of using 44.1 is saving storage space

@@triniticoclough6387 That.... and why use the higher settings if Cd trumps MP3, and people aren't clamoring for the higher bit rates. No dithering required. But!...If you want to overachieve....then, by all means!

@@allenlocke1935 I'm clamoring to listen to 96khz 24bit. Thank God Qobuz is available in the USA now. Seriously, why would Midas not give is the choice?!?
