Hi RacerX. Been watching your channel for a few months. Big fan. I have a 2019 Scatpack Charger and just got a set of MT ET Street R's. I love the grip. Did a few street launches and clocked a 3.7 0-60. I am having trouble doing a 2nd gear burnout though. The car just wants to push thru the brakes. (I did not water them down before the burnout). Any thoughts?
@markg86053 жыл бұрын
Your videos are remarkably informative. If you ever came to NYC and held a weekend seminar on SRTs, you'd sellout Madison Square Garden. Three questions... (1) Regarding the burnout prior to the race, why not use line lock? (2) You don't use launch control. Is it just a gimmick? (3) You stated, at 6:55, that you use E-85. Both the 2021 Dodge Challenger Owner's Manual (page 337) and the Performance Features Guide (page 91) clearly state DO NOT USE E-85 IN NON-FLEX FUEL VEHICLES. Am I not understanding what you said? If I may be so bold as to speak for the thousands of people who watch your videos, allow me to convey my sincerest thanks for all the time and effort you put into your videos.

I especially like how you talk about getting the hood up. Living in Vegas in the summer even after just driving in traffic on the way home I put the hood up for a while after I park it. Something about it being 115* and shutting off the car with super hot temps under the hood don’t sit well with me.

Once I started running 11.2 My local track insisted on the fire coat. I caught the whole thing on video and posted it. my wife was driving at the time. I like the tip of increasing front tire pressure.i might have gotten a 10.9 if I had done that.
@RacerX96 жыл бұрын
I think I fire jacket is a good idea since it’s not really all that cumbersome and you just never know.. certain try to reduce your rolling resistance where you can.. it’s doing all the little things that can amount to quite a bit 👍🏻.. now let’s get that 10 😎
@woodboat3G6 жыл бұрын
I got an 11.067 and an 11.077 The car is all stock. running NT555R on 20in rear. I think if I had just run 50 PSI in the front I would have gotten a 10 :( Learning how to drive was the biggest thing. Started at 11.8 and gradually got to consistent 11.2. Also the Tazer gets me a good burnout and the cool down mode makes it so I can ALMOST hot lap it. That chiller seems awesome
@RacerX96 жыл бұрын
Omg your right there.. still very respectable time.. make sure you get those NT555Rs really hot (they like more temp than the mickeys). Then leave at around 2k rpm and get those front pressures up a little bit and you should be golden... especially in some cool air. Also if you can source a gallon or two of race fuel splash that in your tank so that your car pulls 0 timing. Also run your car with 1/3 tank of fuel. Too little the car chokes from fuel slosh and too much is just added weight! Keep me posted 👍🏻
@woodboat3G6 жыл бұрын
with the 555R it is fastest with a full tank. They just aren't as sticky as micky. 1800 Rpm is the most I can leave when the track is sticky. most times 1600. my local station has great fuel but I will try a splash. If I can scrounge up the cash I am moving to 17 inch and mickys and also getting a trailer in case I break the drive shaft. My wife bought the extended warranty and 10 oil changes from the dealer so that is why I am totally stock. Thanks for the tips.... Also if you wait for green you are late LOL. I posted a video where my wife got .050 Light. I swear she redlit

I can't figure out how to use my launch control. It's a 2019 Hellcat widebody. Can you make a video on that? Do you use your line lock? how do you go from line lock after doing your burnout to launch mode when you're at the drag strip?
@RacerX96 жыл бұрын
Your Hellcat has the line lock feature which is great. Mine does not have it since it’s a 2016. I will tell you that I never use the launch control feature on the car. I did figure out how to use it however the car is much slower using it than with the foot break technique I use. I would recommend disengaging from line lock after the burnout and stalling the car up to around 1500 to 2000rpm and launching it that way.. the demons transbrake is a different story all together but of course we didn’t get that on the Hellcat lol.

0-100REALQUICK .. if you want to run the 17’s they will fit fine if you change out the end links to the shorter ones. They are like $80. Go with the ET Street R’s .. they are an amazing tire .. although you won’t get a ton of mileage out of them. I believe the size is 305x45x17

I was looking for something like the killer chiller for my charger hellcat, thanks for the info. I heard wrong or you said that you launch in 2nd gear? im running with et street s/s at 20-22 psi depends on the track condition I normally do all what you already said high pressure in the front street suspension mode etc but the trans I run in sport, somehow for me was always slow on track trans mode plus spins like a damn crazy sometimes, mine just have 680 wheel hp atm with tine and small mods im waiting for my pulley and meth. About the trans mode what difference has made for you trans track mode and sport?
@RacerX96 жыл бұрын
The street SS is a great tire for your 20” wheel. Definitely leave in first or your 60’ will be terrible (obviously good prep you shouldn’t spin). My trans tune is really nice.. I definitely run faster in track mode since it holds the rpms longer and shifts faster! Your still making a lot of power so spinning those 20s is always a little bit of a problem if the prep has gone away. The ET street R in a 17 or 18 is an optimum setup for a Hellcat but you have to take it in steps right lol 👍🏻
@ZTNET6 жыл бұрын
@@RacerX9 Our race track its a piece of crap im not the only one with spin issues doesnt matter what we do, but still is what you said this cars are not that easy to drive as many people think, I tested the nissan GTR that thing does everything once is setup no chance to fail on that one, I will recheck my tune in the trans area to see what I can do.

Welcome to the channel 👍🏻.. Bmason is an awesome guy. Great question.. so in the front I run an 18 x 5 dark star wheel with a 28” tall tire (m&h bias ply). The fit is very tight to the caliper.. you actually have the put the balancing weights up just behind the spikes of the wheel so they don’t hit. In the rear I put shorter end links on the car ($90 from hhp) and I run a 17x10” dark star with a 305 Mickey Thompson ET street R. No issues with the fit. Yes I got the killer chiller installed aftermarket when I did the Brovo setup.. I works great and it’s a closed system.. I plan to make a video on it in the next few days 👍🏻
@martinmccomb54625 жыл бұрын
I know the vid is a little older but maybe this can still help you. When you open your hood, somewhere around the edge of the engine compartment opening there should be a small switch with a little plastic "plunger" sticking up. This is what the car uses to know if the hood is open. All you have to do is put something on it to hold the plunger down (which holds the switch closed) and all the systems on the car will function normally. Just don't forget to remove whatever you are using to hold this switch closed before you shut the hood because you could damage the switch (and potentially strand yourself at the track) or cause cosmetic damage to the hood itself. Hope that's not too little, too late. Good luck and go get 'em!

Would the race fuel trick be ok in a 392?
@RacerX96 жыл бұрын
Absolutely.. I actually just bought some MS 104 for my buddy to run in his 392 car at the Houston event
@pbclax16 жыл бұрын
Awesome. Just add in a gallon or two of it and you’re good to go?
@hakunamatata45175 жыл бұрын
Can I use MS104 in a stock hellcat?
@RacerX95 жыл бұрын
Absolutely.. it’s an unleaded fuel. You won’t gain more power unless you retune specifically for it but it will definitely help keep the car from pulling timing

Hey buddy I don’t know how far you will travel to a race but next Friday (testing) Saturday (racing) there’s a MSHS event in Georgia that’s a ton of fun. A lot of us always go and have a ball. All Mopars makes it even better. Btw Top Cats car is always there and it’s a monster with Josh driving I think
@RacerX96 жыл бұрын
Natalie Deyton .. wow that sounds like a lot of fun. Not sure I will be able to make that trek on short notice but I will definitely keep it in mind. I really appreciate the invite! 🤜.. I know Top Cats car is no joke
