Very useful. I hadn't considered the gain before feedback aspect. An added complication with video projection is audio being out of sync with picture.

Glad it was helpful! I think everyone thinks of eliminating the slapback echo first (rightly so) but the gain thing is a big help. Not sure how we're ever going to work out the sound and video situation heh

Good information To have , now that alive gigs are back at full blast . Venues are very varied , in long rooms this really helps especially when you want to avoid blasting the front crowd . Less stress on your system and better sound distribution. I’d use power monitors on stands I’d possible .👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Hi! Thanks for the video. Its a lot of help for me😂 I was wondering though, do you know the difference of this output speaker delay you explained about and input channel delay? I noticed that each input channels have a delay nob before applying comp/eq and I dont know why this exist and when to apply it!

How far apart should your speaker be before you delay them
@OffshoreAudio Жыл бұрын
Interesting question. I'll try answer it as best I can. First though, I'll reword it as : How near can my speakers be without delaying them? The only time I can imagine using multiple speaker without delays would be a stereo system or a surround system where time delays between speakers are part of what creates the stereo image. I'm not sure if that helps but feel free to tell me your situation and I can probably explain better with context.

Hi need HELP I need to cover a large outdoor area with music. The total area is 5000m2. There'll be tables spread around that area. Total table area to cover is 20m2. I need to avoid disturbing the neighbors and compensate for latency. Where can I learn more about this?

Isnt out there any equipment with a thermometer, and a software that automatically level and sync the delay signal?, ive been to a party and the delay was so off, it was like 2 tracks playing not sync, they probably set the delay parameters during the day which was sunny, and at night it was just awful

How about mixer YAMAHA M 16 XU analog...how to setting the delay
@OffshoreAudio Жыл бұрын
It's not possible to set output delays on this mixer, most analogue mixers are not designed for this. Consider a system a processor.

Is it possible to Daisy chain from the left right speakers and set delay time on the delay speakers or is it better to have them on separate mix output? Cheers.
@timothyandrews59756 ай бұрын
I don't think this is possible as you are just sharing the output from the primary speakers.

@@timothyandrews5975 my speakers have delay control so it is possible. I've done it before. Just wondering what is more ideal

I just had an A-HA moment: Prior to this video, I had been using an aux (read monitor) mix going out analog 8 with the delay set for outdoor shows at nearly 33 meters to my delay towers. But now, I’m going to use one of the matrices to send the signal. My delay towers are mono. Output to a wireless transmitter to two receivers on the same frequency. So, instead of setting all the channels to zero and post fader, I’ll use the matrix to send exactly what I’m doing at FOH so both FOH and delay are the same mix. I was always worried that the two mixes weren’t getting the same ratio of each channel. They were, theoretically. But, using the matrix assures that. And it will be one less thing I need to worry about. Jeez, I can’t believe I was doing it that way and didn’t think about this before. I will lose my front fill matrix, but I haven’t used that up to now anyway. Thank you for this great revelation.

I'm sure some one already pointed this out but i thin k you had a dyslexia moment when you typed your equation for the speaker delay time: you have 434m/s instead of 343m/s... fantastic video otherwise!!!
