How to set up duplex (double-sided) printing

This instruction is relevant to Epson printers with no auto duplex (double-sided) function. The Epson EcoTank ET-2810 is used in this video, but for other printers the steps may vary, so please refer to your manual.

That printer doesn't have an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), which prints both sides of a document without you having to flip it manually - like in this video.

For PDF documents printing: Print all uneven pages first, then take the papers, turn 180 deg, put into input, then print all even pages IN REVERSE ORDER (Under "Print Range," check the box that says "Reverse Pages.")

You skip over the most important part, and that is the orientation of the paper when reinserting it into the document feeder. If it were not for the brief few seconds of video I would none the wise. This is really the worst feature of this model is the inadequate explanation, which should appear on the panel with orientation guide

Manual Duplexing is used to automate(partially in this case) the process of double sided printing where you want your document to appear in a sequential manner on both pages of the paper into a single print job . Automatic Duplexing would also flip the pages as it prints. While you can also accomplish this manually this by separating the print job into odd and even pages using the duplexing function even in its manual form allows you(and others)to queue multiple documents for printing without risking mixups from happening nor will you have to watch the progress of your current print job to know whether its time to flip the page as the printer will pause and notify you when its time to do so leaving you time for other things to do. Not sure if Epson also does this but the duplex option has settings to adjust printouts to take into account pages being stapled together. On dye+pigment black canon printers this also reduces the use of pigment black ink to reduce text bleed through at the expense of greyer looking black text.

Print all the even pages then print all the odd pages on the other side. Just test a sheet to make sure you know which way to rotate the sheets to get correct orientation.

Then choose the option... Print all odd pages... After printing odd pages, Select the option print all even pages. Then turn the side of the paper bundle and print again..thats it.. your duplex printing is done

Hi there, duplex can be both manual or automatic. Manual refers to the software telling the printer to pause and the user manually having to turn the paper. The example software used is using Microsoft Word, but with any application you use to print it will allow you to select double sided printing

This is trying to put a happy face on a pumpkin. Nobody except someone with time to waste or an econut (same thing as a person with time to waste) is going to stand in front of a printer flipping pages. I bought this printer expecting proper duplex printing to be the norm and was disappointed to find it isn't. Nice enough a printer without this deficiency.
