How to set up Footprint charts in Jigsaw Daytradr

This video is a setup guide on how to configure footprint charts in the Daytradr platform in it's current state. When the charts were first released there were many issues which are now mostly fixed and we thought it would be a good time to make a setup video. The footprint is not ideal right out of the box so we provided a basic default from which you can work with.

great video, I am still trying to make market profile work, I just use the DOM and auction vista. Did you figure out the color code by playing with them on trial and error? How did you setup the box on the bottom to display the net volume? Cheers

Trial and error yeah, I've played with them for quite some time. The box on the bottom is from the footprint stats indicator.

hi may i know what datafeed you use for orderflow? if i use IB, do i need to subscribe level II for order flow to work?

Right now we use a data feed provided by Sierra Chart. No you do not need level 2 data to display tick by tick data, but there are other things that need to be considered.

Hello, I do not think chart trading is supported in jigsaw charts last I checked. They may have added it but I am not sure.

Any platform with good footprint chart you would recommend? Like budget wise. I’m a beginner and is looking for something easy and. It too pricey

I would start by looking at Sierra Chart on one of their lower packages that has delayed data. That can be low cost (around $20-$40 USD / month) to get set up. If you need assistance to set up charts feel free to reach out.

Hello Chris, I trade stocks and I need fast Level 2, I use Etrade but the L2 is lagging behind the Time & Sales, I tried the Das Trader trial and I was amazed of the speed but I cannot afford it, is there a cheaper option? I'm looking for fast L2 and different colors on the Time & Sales (below the Bid / above the Ask) Thanks!

There is no cheap options really. You can try lightspeed but I'm not sure how good the data is vs das trader. The best would be IQfeed being sent to a 3rd party platform, it's going to cost you between $100-200 per month for that data.

The problem with spot forex is there is no centralized exchange where the majority of volume takes place. This makes the footprint basically useless because the point of it is to show how much volume at each price, over a select period or range of prices.

Hi - good video. However your explanation of imbalances is not correct. Instead od comparing adjacent bids and offers, imbalances need to be measured diagonally - so bid one tick lower than offer - Just like on the DOM. This is an important distinction. Otherwise great video and good work overall.
