Thanks for the video. Links to the specific products you used would be helpful or at least the name of those types of lights to make it easier for viewers to find on the web would be a welcome addition.

Thanks for your super easy how to video. Working on my green screen project, I am wondering if I have to buy the lights. Is it really necessary? If yes, what product do you recommend? Thanks!

Try it in your space without lights and see how it looks. If you want to get a really professional look, lights are necessary, but you might be satisfied with how it looks with only your room lights.

I continue to have a green halo around my character. It's this glow around him. How do I eliminate that?
@TechTeacherNate2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes you can’t. If you aren’t already, it’s a good idea to film your subject with several feet of space between them and the green screen. 6 to 8 feet is ideal, but it can look ok with less.

Do you need a really specific expensive camera for green screen work or not. What type of camera is worth recommending
@TechTeacherNate6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not. pretty much any camera will do. Even a recent smart phone usually has pretty good video capabilities.

It's interesting how many different opinions there are when it comes to this. Some people say you do not want to use the lights that you light the screen with for your subject. But instead you want extra lights for them and the subject should stand far enough in front where they aren't lit by the screen lights at all. Then typically a three light set up is used to hit the subject from both sides with a key and fill light, and then most even recommend a hair light to remove any possible green fringing along the edges and to separate the subject even more. And then some others say all you need is two lights like yourself.

The setup you describe is definitely ideal, if you have lights available or can afford them. I have since moved to a more professional set up like that. But this method definitely served me well for a long time and was good enough for the level of quality I was going for.

Makes sense. I'm looking into one of those cheap ebay kits that come with several lights. Leaning more towards soft boxes over the umbrellas but it's hard to decide on which one to get. Thanks for the response.

Can the screen be attached to a wall? And/or does it need to have lighting in the back also?
@TechTeacherNate4 жыл бұрын
It can absolutely be on the wall. No back light needed.
