Are you sampling from in front of the speaker just for this example? I would have thought you should sample from the intended listening location as room effects etc will be different there and you want the correction applied where you are going to listen.

Exactly right. The room is what matters, not the near-field response... I was thinking the same thing as you. :)

That depends on what you prefer. If you want your speakers to be as flat as possible you need to sample in front of it. If you want to optimize the sound for the listening position you would set it up there.

@@rlwings Well this is a demonstration of creating a flat active crossover. For room correction I'd use separate software and room treatment!

It looks a bit strange to me on your setup. You have the MiniDSP labeled on the outs as woofers on 1 and 3 and the tweets on 2 and 4. That seems like it would make your crossover setup not work appropriately. Since the DSP does 4 channels and 1/2 are paired and 3/4 are paired in the software control. In my experience it seems as though putting woofers on 1/2 and the tweeters on 3/4 would make the crossover section do as it's intended. Am I missing something?
