How to Set Up Now TV Box

This video guides you through how to set up your NOW TV box.
But first a little bit about the box....
One of the main ways to watch NOWTV is using the NOW TV Box. It's packed full of features. Having used it, the box is a great way to watch a wide range of channels live and / or on demand.
I find that for a small box, where the size is around 89mm x 89mm x 25mm, it certainly gives a speedy performance, with very limited if no buffering - a high speed broadband / fibre connection helps. The NOW TV box can be hard wired via an ethernet cable or can be connected using WIFI.
Now onto the video...
It briefly looks at the packaging, looks in more detail about the NOW TV box itself, including what's in the package, the available connections (USB port, HDMI Slot, Power lead, Ethernet cable) and the leads which are connected to the box. It also looks at the remote control.
It then guides you how to physically set up the NOW TV box with your television and the steps involved in setting up the box. This includes:
The let's get started screen
The option of connecting to wireless or wired network
The time zone set up
The terms and conditions screen
The set up of your user name
The set up of your password
Then looks at the menus available once set up - home, best of catch up, my apps, app store and settings for the NOW TV box generally.
It also shows you the card with details if you are a brand new customer.
Having set up the NOW TV box, I found it very straightforward. The key is that you have an existing account or new account details to hand. The box is compact, fast, runs some great software and 'packs a punch!'

That port on the side is actually a USB port not HDMI. The HDMI port is the one at the back.

Hi Apacaveli. Thanks for your message. I don't believe that this box will work in the US I'm afraid as designed for the UK market. You could look into a Roku - I know that these are in the US. Hi Urbanchicaful. Thanks for your message. Yes, you can watch certain free to air channels through the respective apps on the NOW TV Box - e.g. BBC I player (BBC 1, BBC 2, BBC news, Three...) ITV Player (ITV, ITV 2, ITV Be), All 4, Demand 5 etc.

Hi Eric. I've never come across a red star button on the controller or heard it beep I'm afraid. Is this NOW TV in the UK? The white star button is the info key. hi there, maybe I can help you. I have the now tv smart box and 2 smart tv's. The box comes preinstalled with nowtv and Freeview state out of the box, so just hook it up to your tv and signing with your logging details for the subscription you have. As for the smart tv app, as far as I know. It Will only work if the tv is not older than 2015, well that's the case with my Samsung Smart TV. If you get the on smart tv, then logging via the app in the same way as the box. I hope that was helpful, and with the smart box version, you can install the Netflix app from the built in-app store. I do have my own youtube channel, so I can post a vid on how it all works if you want. OH, by the way, you will need a subscription for Netflix too if you install the app.

Hi - Thanks for your message. In the UK, you can get various Roku players, branded Roku, where there's a lot of channels or apps, including NOW TV which provides Sky channels. Or you can get NOW TV devices, branded NOW TV, but Roku powered, where the content is more limited and the main content is geared towards NOW TV and associated Sky channels. Italy will be different. Having looked on the web, I believe that Sky has launched the Roku Powered Sky Online TV Box in Italy. Hi. The Now TV boxes (as my video) just need an internet connection. The Now TV smart boxes (not yet reviewed - review coming soon) again need connection to the internet. However, a digital TV aerial is required to watch free to air channels live on the smart boxes. Thanks.

Hi Dan. If the HDMI setting is on, i.e. the TV goes to that channel, it should come on. Mine certainly does. Best check all connections. Is it also worth checking the TV manufacturers instructions? Do you have another TV you could try it on? Many thanks.

Hi Violet. Sorry to hear that you're having issues with the NOW TV box. Could there be an issue with the power lead or power supply? If not turning on, probably best to return it to the place that you bought it to ask them to sort it. Hope that helps.

Hi. According to the NOW TV website, you'll need to create a free account & have an active pass or free trial to start using the NOW TV Box. If you have a free trial, you can cancel this as I understand it. You can then use the box to watch other channels with different apps. Thanks.
