whats better in your opinion the sky hub or now broadband because i have sky right now and it is terrible i get 3mb download speed and 0.50 upload

Good evening, NowTV is owned by Sky so the only difference would be the price. I went from 7-10mbs to 75mbs for cheaper. The router is more reliable than the sky router. I would look to upgrade to fibre if possible as it will most likely be cheaper or the same price with phone included. Hard resetting your router may helpful your speed as you may have something called dirty data build up (data left over). Turn off your router for 30 seconds and back on, this will wipe the dirty data. Try the reset to see if it helps.

Hi, sorry I hadn't responded, I was rushed to hospital due to an epileptic seizure. I will find the NowTV router and get the measurements. As for the cables, these will be 5 to 7 feet for the power cable, and 7 to 10 feet for the phone cable.

Sorry for the late reply again, I've been recovering from the seizure and smaller seizures through out the week. The measurements for the NowTV Hub are 8.5 inches by 5.5 inches by 1.5 inches depth

@@iyshiysh4969 OK, so you should be able to connect to your router via WiFi using the password on the bottom of the router and on the supplied card. You will need to go to your TVs settings and then to the Network setting. You should be able to scan for your router and connect wirelessly by putting the router name and password in to the relevant spaces.

to Clarify the Cable that goes from the filter to the Router is NOT an Ethernet Cable it is an rj11 cable, an Ethernet cable has a Bigger Plug with 8 pins caled an rj45 and is used to connect PC or Smart TV exettera.

Hi, yea I realised I said the wrong cable by mistake when I watched it back, unfortunately I have a form of amnesia and my brain tends to go on vacation. I used to know how to build robots, mod electronics, make software do things it weren't meant to. Good morning, thank you for watching. The signal is certainly strong enough to reach a 3rd floor. This shouldn't have any noticeable dip in quality of signal over this distance. If you experience and drop outs or low signal you can buy wifi repeater/extenders which plug into your socket in any roommate to extend/boost your WiFi signal. You can find these on Amazon. Good afternoon, I've done some research on your question, unfortunately it appears this can't be done from what I have have read. A suggestion I have found is using a Sky Q repeater or similar. You can find TP Link repeaters for around £5-£10 which work well as I have personally used them. Sorry I couldn't directly answer your question. Have a good day.

Hi, when you set up the router and connect for the first time on a phone or tablet you will be prompted to sign in to your NowTV account and taken to the Internet settings to allow or prevent violent images, death or pornagraphic results from appearing. I'll walk you through as best I can. Once signed in the drop down menu on my will be Settings and pins, go to this setting. Go down past parent and payment pin to Broadband Buddy in Pink and change settings. Here you can set age restrictions. PG, 13,18 and Custom. Below that you will find Grown up browsing time. This will allow you choose at what times you can view 18 rated content. Below this you will find Block and allow websites. Here you can type in any websites address in to the Blocked websites section and add. And type in allowed websites chosen by you. In Custom settings you will want to block Anonymizers, Filesharing and Hacking. Drugs and Criminal skills. Phishing, Malware and Spyware for security and Suiced and harm. I hope this has helped. Hi, trying to find out how to actually access the tv channels with Now TV Hub Two. My parents have just had this fitted today in place of their Virgin box and are clueless as to how to watch the tv through it. Lack of a remote control with the box has baffled them. Can you please advise.

Good afternoon and thank you for your comment. The NOW TV Hub is only used to receive the Internet. To view TV channels or programs using the hub your parents will need to have a wii connected device such as a smart tv, tablet, pc or phone. To view channels through NOW TV your parents will need to purchase a small NOW TV SMART BOX. These are relatively cheap from £10 to £20 and can be bought from eBay or Facebook Market Place. I have done an unboxing of the 4K smart TV box that may help. If you need anything clarified or any further questions please ask.

Hi,the service is the best I've had in my area and the cheapest for the speeds I get. I've had no drop outs or any dead spots. Game downloads are fast if the game servers are up to snuff that is. Uploads of videos to KZbin are super fast from PC and mobile. It used to take 5 plus hours to upload, now it's 5 to 10 min on longer 4k uploads.

Unfortunately, most routers provided by suppliers are using the cheapest components. I've had to get a Deco Mesh to get the signal through 100 year old Welsh rock.

Hi, i was wondering about the internet speeds an range.

Regarding the routers consistancy in speed I find it very consistent as it uses the 5GHz frequency. Regarding it's range, I have my router in my game room and Xbox one in the front room about 30-40 ft, so there is a ceiling and at least 2 thick brick walls and shelving units between the 2 devices and I have never had any drop outs or severe speed drops like I experienced with my Sky router.

@@the1poundgamer i am wondering to switch as i pay sky with the same router as u but pay £24 for 11mbps (but i get 2-3 near the router but upstairs i get 1 mbps) and weekend calls but with Now Broadband its £24 for 36 mbps and any time calls. Should i switch?

@@Fortnite-ix5by I would switch as you will get faster speeds and in my opinion more reliable consistent speeds for the same price. If you don't get the advertised minimum speeds you are able to cancel at any point at no cost to you. With Sky I experienced the same low speeds as you. Since switching and using the new router I have had no problems at all. Bare in mind that NowTV is only online and has no phone number to keep the costs down.

@@Fortnite-ix5by Yes that is correct, this includes Mobile calls and 24hrs 7 days a week. You can add extras to receive voicemail, Auto number withhold to hide your number, last call barring so you block last 10 numbers and anonymous caller reject to stop a withheld number from getting through.

@@the1poundgamer I have the same problem. I only just plugged it in now. Do I have to wait until midnight for it to activate. NOW said I have an engineer date in 5 days. Could it be that my master phone socket isn't working?

@@martin6123 the engineer date is usually the activation date too. Midnight is rarely the start point of your broadband and will usually begin in the day time. Once the engineer has been depending on your service if you will be getting 145mbs+ will install a junction box in your home and set up your router and test it is all functioning correctly before he leaves.

Hi, do you have your router near any electrical items like a microwave, a radio, pc or t.v.? Or is it placed in a cupboard? If the router is getting too warm, turn it upside down for a better airflow. All these can effect the signals. If these are not the problem you may need to buy some boosters to help the signal travel through thick walls.
