I have spent All day trying to set this up . The main bridge is set up but the Sub refuses to be found . EAP211- Bridge Kit . Not happy . Now have two Main bridge points and No subs ; until I reset everything and then same ol , same ol . Wasting far too much time on this . Been to all the help and no joy . Please help !

I am just trying to configure a set. Why on earth do I need to set 2 different SSIDs on both devices. I don't want clients to connect to them. I just want one connect to the other, so I can extend my wired ethernet to my shed. If I type skip at the setup step it doesn't skip SSID creation but creates 2 SSIDs based on the mac adddress of the device and surprise surprise open networks without authentication. OK later on you can delete them. But the bad thing is that if you change whatever in the wifi settings, the devices disconnect. Most of the time for good. The only way to get them back is hardware reset. Then you have to go through the whole setup again. Why doesn't TP link explain if and why it is needed to configure a SSID even when you don't want to connect clients to it. Why don't they explain why they might be needed for the 2 devices to connect to each other. You might think, at the start of the setup they pair, BEFORE you could even set the SSID. So I might not be needed. But just trying things out by changing settings is so hopeless, because every little thing you change causes the devices to disonnect from each other. I thought , if they only connec to each other, let's use AC only, instead of auto A/N/AC auto, but you've guessed it. disconnect. So disappointing that the firmware/software/userinterace is such a shambles. The hardware looks realy good, well built. Maybe they should put some more effort in useable interfaces, documentation in which they explain what all the options do, and what they're meant for. But yes, if you want to devices that connect to each other, announce 2 different SSID's that clients can connect to, want to use channel 44 and don't want to tweak any setting, than yes it might be useful to you. Otherwise don't bother.
