How to Set Up Parental Controls on Windows 10
Are you looking to ensure a safe and controlled digital environment for your child? Windows offers robust parental controls through Microsoft Family Safety features, ensuring your child's digital well-being. Let's learn how to set up parental controls on Windows 10 and ensure a safer online environment for our kids.
1. Click on the Start Windows icon at the bottom left and choose Settings to launch the Windows Settings app.
2. Select Accounts.
3. In the left pane, select Family & Other Users.
4. Select Click on Add a Family Member if your child does not have a separate account on your device. This step launches a Microsoft Account wizard.
5. Now, enter the Microsoft account’s email of your child, if you don’t have a Microsoft account then click on the “Create one for a child” link.
6. In the next screen, click on the Member box to select their role, and click on the Invite button.
7. Close the settings window.
8. Open the Microsoft email of your child, and click on the Accept Invitation button in the Invite email from familysafety@microsoft.com
9. In the Join the family group as a member page, click on the Join Now button.
10. Now, you have to Connect your child’s device to see the screen time use and insights from the Windows Settings, and in the Family & Other People option.
11. Once your child’s account joins the Family group, then open the Settings window on your device.
12. Click on the Family & Other Users from the left panel.
13. Under the email of your child, click on the Manage Family settings online link.
14. This will open a 365 webpage of Microsoft.
15. Click on the Sign in button at the top right.
16. Login with your Microsoft account email, and password.
17. And this will open the Family Safety page.
18. Once the device of your child is connected, you can set the parental controls like Screen Time, Content filters, Spending, and Activity reporting on this page.
